[PC, Steam] Free Game - Codename: Gordon Half-Life 2D @ Steam

Moved to Forum: Original Link

How to Install:
Click here: https://steamdb.info/app/92/ and click install.

There is also a link on the Go to Deal link, which is the wiki page and more info on the game, but I included this link since it's probably more familiar for most people.

About the Game:
Codename: Gordon, also known as Half-Life 2D, is a side-scroller puzzle/action game created by Nuclearvision Entertainment. Valve had released Codename: Gordon via Steam, but the game was removed due to the dev going bankrupt. This is app 92, one of the first ever on Steam.

How does it work?
The game is added to your library, but there is nothing in key activations, it does not add +1 to your game count. If you uninstall the game, it is removed from your library.

I played this when it was as first released, and I didn’t have a computer that could run HL2! Strong nostalgia…

This was actually released before Half-Life 2. The game was produced from early media Valve released. They were impressed by the result and gave them some early publicity by blogging about it.

Still remember a few people on those early Steam forums not realizing that this was a fan project, and were angry that 'Valve was wasting time on this, and not HL2'.

Mate, you might want to update your instructions on how to get the free game. See this deal here. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/778258

People can install the game directly via Steam DB with the link only on PC.
Just I thought I help, before people start complaining.

It is slightly different, since this game has no store page, and doesn't add a free license to your account, but yes, the instructions I used only work on PC. If anyone is having trouble, then feel free to follow the instructions in that link, with the app number being 92 for this game. The description and deal link here don't allow for directly adding the game, which is: steam://install/92

  • I don't approve because Gordon is spelt incorrectly but I liked the post anyway because HL 4 lyf

    • Fixed.

Does anyone else remember that Zombie Movie film released on Steam? It was when they first introduced the Videos area, branching out to non-game content. Doesn't seem that available anymore. Pity as it was really funny.

  • Did you just watched JarekTheGamingDragon half life video lmao

Me? No, but it's possible that it got around from there. I joined a bunch of junk game giveaway sites and this was on one of them. I checked it out and thought it was interesting so posted it.

I usually don't bother with non license games, definitely no free license games you can just remove, but this one seemed different and fun, so thought I'd share. I checked first, and no one else had posted it.

  • Dr Freeman. Dr Freeman. Dr Free-Free-Free-Free-Free-Free-Freeman!
Ahh yes, I remember this fondly. I played it numerous times while waiting for HL2.
Back when the Steam Launcher was a strange shade of green.
    Good times.

  • dammit! I still haven't finished the Black Mesa remake.
