    Is this one actually good?

    • +3

I have one, lack of proper display limits it's ability to use as a standalone device.

    • +2

I looked at it about 2 years ago and like nearly all others, it didn't fare well. Bought an A&D in the end as it was one of the few that was approved for accuracy by various bodies. Be aware that a lot of the "xxx approval" labels (e.g. FDA) just mean it's safe rather than accurate.

Also a lot of reviews said "accurate" or "inaccurate" based on it what they saw at their doctors, which is very unreliable.

Just tried one of these a month ago. Not accurate enough after a week for me to keep, and not nearly as convenient as I wanted it to be.

Accuracy: if my average is 125/80, I was testing repeatedly at 135-140/85.

Convenience: I was planning to keep the cuff on and try to get many readings in a day. The cuff always slipped a bit, never really felt comfortable, and needed adjusting. You’ll get the odd failed reading.

    Ended up returning it.

  • My Nokia BPM stopped working with the latest Withings app update. Withings reply was “wait until a new version of the app becomes available” 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The cardiologist I saw suggested the Kmart one and it works well https://www.kmart.com.au/product/automatic-blood-pressure-mo…?

    • Anyone found any stock? I tried online but couldn't find a store with stock

    Plz comment if used

    • Used thanks

  • If you have health insurance you may claim it all back.

works ok for me, you have to position it fairly well in a specific spot for it to work accurately. The cuff isnt huge so if you have really fat/swole arms you may struggle. Its right at the limit for me but i have reasonable big arms. If you struggle at the docs and they need to bust out the bigger cuff, this isn't for you.

mine is always 10-15 higher at GP, but its white coat syndrome. It perfectly matched what the nurses measure last time i was in the hospital for a surgery (measured over 3 days waiting due to being bumped for the operating room)

Got the exact same code, not unique

Bought Omron for 130$ for mum 7 years ago. Still going strong, i have compared its readings along with manual ones on many occasions its very accurate.

Upper Arm monitors are much more accurate than forearm ones if you have big biceps this might struggle

    • Have always been recommended Omron upper arm monitors by Cardiologists

  • +1

As a healthcare professional, my recomendation is omron. Unfortunately their app is terrible and doesn't integrate well, but is good enough for BP monitoring.

  • +3

Regardless of brand, to get accurate reading you should sit in comfortable position for a few minutes before checking blood pressure!

    • That never happens when I get mine tested at the GP?

      • +1

That's why you need one to check from home. Also try to measure at around the same time daily.

    • 10 min to be precise

  • Omron is probably the more reliable consumer grade BPM, I was tempted to get a Garmin Index, primarily due to Garmin Connect integration but decided to stick with Omron.

Beware the warranty is only 12 months in Australia, and mine died shortly after warranty lapsed. Both JB and Whitings don't want to give any replacement, only little bit of discount to repurchase the new one.

    • +1

Have you tried chasing them up through statutory warranty? A $179 device should at least last a couple of years

      • I did that to JB staff, even called the manager, and they blantantly say no.

        • should move on to higher level action next time

  • Have the iHealth BP5, though it seems to be no longer available.

Very accurate when compared with the Omron HEM-7130

Not sure about this Withings device though. lol

  • Hi, I am interesting in the other modeal, Withings BPM CoreWireless Blood Pressure Monitor, as link below
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/withings-bpm-corewireless…

My wife recently get more higher blood pressor and I am looking for one that more accurate.

    Any commend?
How can I use the code for that discount?

    Thank in advance!

    • +1

the code only applies to the model in the post

  • Can I use this to take Mean Arterial Pressure with a Doppler?

  • Bought one of these just before I took off to europe.
    Costco $128.
If you cross your arm across your chest seems to give a very close reading to a standalone omron.

As a decent indicator - yes very good and convenient for my use. (tracking how well new meds are working). Wouldn't rely on it as an only device though.

  • I have similar functionality Omron hem7600t & it's quick/practical (with LED screen) with the app/history log. Used >3y
Just purchased Omron hem7361t + AFib (I think 5y warranty) & averages 3 measurements with AFIB detection.

Does this alert the doctor when my blood pressure spikes? I don't want them to bother me about getting into Club Aqua.

    • Yes, in that scenario it would send an email directly to Fauci

  • mmmm i was keen to get one of these but peoples comments have turned me right off… guess i'll stick with my omron!
