I just bought three pairs at H&M yesterday for $27.99 ($34.99, less 20% sign up offer to their membership program - normally 10%). I was going to look at Uniqlo, but didn't get around to it. Pretty happy with the H&M pairs.

    Great price

Has anyone else found Uniqlo's "slim fit" closer to just standard fit pants? Ordered a couple online with alterations and they're definitely wider in the leg than any other slim fit I have from different brands.

    • +1

Yep, Uniqlo's idea of skinny is slim in reality, and slim is regular.

You must be in your 30-40s…

These days Uniqlo regular is what we call baggy pants… Even the men would go to the women's section to find even more baggier pants.

Lol to the people who negged me 😂

Younger people these days just wear much more loose clothing… We're just getting old and you just got to accept it…

Look there is even a comment below acknowledging it:

Probably getting negged by the people who still think mens skinny jeans (that really look like jeggings) are still fashionable in 2023.

Just the mustard colour it looks like

    their slim is quite fat

    • I think you're thinking of skinny, feel like their slim is just slim enough to be called slim

  • Where do you get a $6 alteration OP? I’ve only found $10-$20 alteration.

    • +1

From uniqlo themselves. Right under where you select the size, you can choose to get the pants shortened.

  • +4

For those mentioning the fit isn't slim is because "loose" is back in.

Me personally, I'll wait til 26Red comes back in style.

Hard to change peoples slyle. They’ll cling to their idea of cool for a good 10 years past the used by date.

    • Its funny how in 2011 i was reading an article that men wanted the skinniest jeans ever that they would flock to Supre to get the female's version cause it "makes their package looks big" (actual quote from the article back then) but now with the trend of pleated pants, men also buy the women's version cause they're much more looser and comfy.

The hype was even all over tiktok at some point earlier this year.

    • I knew I should have kept those Cross Colours jeans so my kid would know I was cool once

    • +2

Quite happy for the "loose" look to come back in. Anyone who gyms, cycles or at least works out their legs knows the pain of fitting in proper jeans or chinos without looking like you're wearing leggings!

    • Maybe they’ll be altered 5in above the ankle too

  • -1

Wish you were shorter you mean? You can't do alterations to make them longer, only shorter, right?

    • You alter the pants because they are too long for his legs = shorter person would spend more to get it altered since the pants is too long

      • I misread, thought it was free alterations that are usually 6 bucks 😥

    Only yellow left

    • To be fair, they have already been closed in Russia since March 2022, same as most companies.

      • -1

suspended it, not closed up completely like a lot of businesses. Funny down votes though tbh, they're either ignorant of whats happening or just dgaf about anyone to save a few $$.

    • Yeah I really just don't care about how "on-schedule" their politics are

  • -1

    Just yellow it seems.

Thanks Op. Last time I bought 3 slim fit chinos in various colours & 3 ezy jeans for around $20-25. Fit is perfect but it's been many years and most have worn out.

Even thought it's a "poo" colour, it's still very functional and mine will fade/get dirty gracefully. I bought enough to last the next many years.

Only the yellow colour showing the reduced price for me.

  • I hate how uniqlo Au only stocks the one pant length and relies on alterations. It just doesn't look the same. The taper is all wrong. It's like they just cut off the pants.

    • Valid point but are there other brands that stock multiple length options?

Or do you mean each waist size should have a different length?

  • The quality has gone so further down since just before Covid that I don’t even consider purchasing them anymore.

    • Have you noticed that across all f their products? I never bought anything from them pre-Covid, so I don't have that reference point, but a pair of socks I bought post-Covid didn't last very long.

      • Nah, just the chinos.

  • back in stock guys.

  • Anyone know if upsized cashback is likely to happen soon?
