ALDI also has a top loader, but $100 more, less efficient, bad for clothes, takes more space, … why would anyone want that?
Vented dryer $349 also.

  • Hi All, Any reviews ??

    • +1

I bought it last year, definitely happy with it for the price. My only complaint is that it can't fit larger items like a king duvet or doona, so be aware if you use those.

      • Thank you.

Seems some customers didn't remove transit bolts and then left bad reviews.

      instructions are for pussies ;)

        Meow.

        • I love a good set of instructions

I don't need one but I'll ask the question. Wifi, so does it work with Home Assistant? Probably a Tuya module, but guessing we don't know yet as it's a new addition this year, hence the W added to the model number? (Actually, just saw a comment from link posted above with the manual from last year and was also this wifi model). That's the full PDF manual instead of quick start guide if anyone wanted to see anyway.

It's actually quite useful, my LG is connected to HA and I have it announced by Alexa in the last 5 mins that it will be finishing in 5 minutes and then again once it has actually finished.

  • +1

It's the same as the AKAI one, as Stirling and AKAI have the same importer. Big W and Appliances online sell the AKAI one

  • And it is tuya based

    • Ooh - any examples of how you can utilise that?

My mum bought the Stirling dishwasher about 2 years ago for $299, we worked on $100 per year of warranty.

This one is $116-odd per year of warranty ($349/3) - bit hard to say "no" if you need a washing machine and don't have a huge amount of $$$.

  • Anyone had the dryer before

    • Yep also bought the dryer, no complaints at all one year on

    • I bought the dryer two years old. It does the job. There are two things I don't like about it: only two fins inside the drum -> not enough to toss clothes around and the lint compartment can't be adequately sealed. Overall I'm happy with what I paid for.

  • Which program do you guys use for everyday washing? I have a Hisense purejet 8.5kg and my "mixed" program takes 2.2hrs to wash which I find is bit too long.

    • +2

Just pick any program that matches your time expectations and allows you to use the temperature and spinning speed that you want. Eg. the standard 30 degrees takes 2:30 hrs on mine, but if I switch to "easy care", it's 1:20, also 30 degrees and full spin power.

As long as a program doesn't mention prewashing, extra rinse or "intense", it's all the same, just different times and different temperature or spin restrictions.

  • How are you meant to physically buy one of these from a store? Take a folding trolley?

    • +1

      It's nearly 70kgs; you need a trolley

      • +1

        Unless you are He-Man!

      • +3

        Lol, it's only 8kgs.

    • Folding trolleys are not usually rated for this much load.
I'll be taking a proper trolley with pneumatic tyres.

    • ALDI have their own flatbed trolleys that look same as the Bunnings trolleys. ALDI will loan them out to customers to move from store room floor to car park. These are heavy washing machines so you need the help of an ALDI worker to load the box onto the trolley as it can't be loaded onto the trolley by one person as the trolley slides around as well as tips over.

I paid $249 for mine as it was last years clearance stock with damaged box.

  • If washing King size bedding … for the love of the washing Gods, get a 10kg device where possible and make your life easy.

    • A king-size set easily fits into my 7.5-kg washing machine.

Hard to find a 10-kg load frontloader and toploaders aren't making life easy because they suck at washing compared to frontloaders and wear the fabric.

  • Anyone bought vacuum cleaner on sale as well? Need to know your thoughts and for dryers as well. TIA

  • New to buying at Aldi, do they do delivery?

    • +1

Not for this. They used to have online-only with delivery, but not for in-store.

  • Just bought one. Can not find the app for wireless connection to Android phone in Google Play that will install. There is a Stirling one (tempo Australia) but not able to download. Any ideas anyone?

    • +1

Tuya Smart or Smart Life might do the job if it's Tuya based.

    • The standard Tuya app "Smartlife" works.
You need the "slow blinking" mode. With wifi symbol blinking on the machine, connect to "SL-Stirling" hotspot, to add it to the Smartlife app.

It lets you remotely set mode and start the machine. More usefully, you get a notification when it finishes.
It is not showing up on the Amazon or Google home apps. I suppose I should have another go at getting Home Assistant to work with Tuya.

  • Out of stock in 5 minutes at my local.
Unless anyone can post locations with stock remaining, I'll mark this sold out soon.

    • +1

There's a lot of Aldi's around. Best to just leave it, tomorrow it will be up on the stock checker so everyone can check for themselves where there may be stock near them.

      • yeah, by "soon" I did not mean today.

  • Someone said this washing machine doesn't take in hot water and has a cold water inlet only. I.e. one inlet only

    • That is normal for all modern washing machines, and dishwashers.
It uses 80 litres and less than one kWh for a full load, long cycle 60C wash and triple rinse.
      Similar to other front-loaders.

Top-loaders use a lot more water, so tend to have separate inlets.
