On sale is Teclast's successor to the T50 tablet with a heap of upgrades at a lower price. This includes Android 13, the more powerful MediaTek Helio G99 CPU making it better suited for gaming, larger and faster 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, a larger 8000mAh battery and 20MP dual rear cameras.

Edit: Consider getting this one instead

Other features include an 11" 2000x1200 IPS display, 8GB RAM, microSD card support, 18W USB-C PD fast charging, 4G LTE with dual SIM, 8MP front camera, WiFI ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, quad speakers and dual mics.

As usual there's no Netflix certification for HD content for those who still watch it. The large 11" 2K screen is still suitable for watching other media in high quality.

  • Just FYI the physical dimensions of this tablet are even smaller than the iPlay 50, which I already find too small (much smaller than the iPads)

    • That's not the T50 Pro.

      • That's not

        Ambiguous demonstrative pronoun

  • Any good for school/studies? Im not familiar with tablets but want to get one for uni.

  • This looks better on paper than Lenovo M10 plus 3rd gen for just $70 more from what I paid. Should have waited.

    • +1

The Lenovo has full HD support in Netflix etc. It's a great tablet, I would not regret. :)

    • I have the iPlay 50 and the M10 3rd gen (non plus) display looks sharper

  • What does it mean no certification for Netflix HD? You can't play Netflix? Or just not in HD? Is there a way around it?

    Cheers

    • Means Netflix hasn't certified the device, so it'll be in SD instead of HD.

  • +2

For those considering the Teclast I think you should checkout the Doogee T30 Pro instead. Seems to be better value.

  • Anyone have real world experience long term review on the Helio G99? I'm scared that chipset might feel slow and outdated in a year's time.

    • In general, most (non-Samsung) Android devices tend to feel outdated within a year. This can often be reflected in their price as well. Personally, I'm considering replacing mine with a new device within a year instead of keeping or selling it.

  • I got a Teclast T8 for something like $140 around 6 years ago. The main things that scare me about Teclast is the OS updates. I tried in earnest to update to the lastest version but it kept failing. The people who did said it was buggy and to stay away from the update. The screen has a green tint despite it not having that issue in one of JDI's tablets. Lack of GPS is weird.
So the tablet works and the specs were future proof but I'm not exactly filled with confidence about Teclast. But I'm sure it's changed for better or worse over that time.
