Recommend Me a Good Salad Spinner

Anyone still use them?

I had one years ago but lost it during a move.
I've been googling but can only find real flimsy crap quality ones.

Nothing wrong with the $7 IKEA one, use it often and works well: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/uppfylld-salad-spinner-white-40…

If you want premium, OXO it is: https://www.amazon.com.au/OXO-Good-Grips-Salad-Spinner/dp/B0…

    • I have this OXO one and not a huge fan of it. It works but really nothing special.

    • Got the IKEA one 5-6 years ago, still using it. Very good.

    • OXO is good but the spin isn't as powerful as some of the cheaper ones.

Probably good for an elderly person but I would get the IKEA one if I had to pay for it.

    • For the love of God do not get the Oxo or any push down ones.

They are so inefficient to use, use the crank ones.

      • Yes, I have the OXO and it does not work as well as the crank one I had before it. I purchased the OXO because the string of the crank one broke. Now I know why it's not as good.

We have a Zyliss Easy Spin. Have had it for years and we use it all the time. It's great.

Zyliss were very popular when I worked in a department store gift registry

They make really good garlic presses also

Yes, the Zyliss was much better than the OXO I have now but the string wore out. Still if I had to get a new one I would get Zyliss.

  • This one is good

our leifheit was received as a present in 1999, used often
    closest current one

    .

  • Oxo is good

  • Wrap the lettuce and other salad items in a tea towel, swing it around your head for a minute or so - job done
    What could be cheaper?

    • Wrapping it all in shade cloth and taping to the ceiling fan?

    • I learnt from the culinary chef Mr Bean and use a sock

    • Dry and toss your salad at the same time!

Even Big W , KMart etc ones work well, last ages. (not the pull start ones.)
They look like the Ikea version or this>

. Wind like a winner.Just make sure they don't cop too much UV through the window and don't use a dishwasher on them.

Do you prefer to eat your lettuce dry?

  • We just use our Miele Heat Pump Dryer.

    Why waste $7?

  • I put greens in hands under tap, shake to dry, what is the point of a salad spinner?

You will not understand until you use one.
