Epic asside, this is a phenomenal game.
Easily worth a $5 premium to have on Steam though.
It really is, I've seen developers charge more for the Steam version knowing it's more valuable.
It may be more to do with Valve charging a higher commission. I think they take a pretty savage cut, because they know they're the best platform.
Didn't realise they are still updating the game, been playing the switch version. Does the Steam version work on MacOS as well?

got it for under 3 euros on eneba few months back.
played it when it was free on Xbox pass and liked it enough to buy. still can't finish the game! although I haven't put an awful lot of time into it. great gameplay this! highly recommended

some combinations of boons are super powerful, but I still can't get past Elisium. I think I did it once or twice
Yeah you are set if you got Athena dash. I'm a procrastinator so I die a lot to farm Darkness to unlock the mirror and level up the keepsakes. Not actually trying to finish yet. It's a very fun game.
Don't worry. It'll happen soon. Then you'll get to a point where when you don't finish the game it is a surprise
My tips are:
* Pair your boons with your weapon - e.g. if you're using something that attacks fast for little damage (like the rail) use Zeus' attack boon. If it's higher damage and slow use % based, like Athena or Aphrodite.
* Always get a Daedalus hammer when available.
* Use the dark portal in the first region, and only if strong already in following regions.
* The Aegis is the easiest starter weapon. Hold down attack to prevent all damage from the front. Continuously use this to damage enemies without being hit.
* Use dash a lot.
* Always go for the event in the second region (Eurydice).
* For the mirror typically the default options are better / easier.
* Only go to the shop to avoid a battle you don't want (in the middle of the first 3 regions it will skip a mini-boss battle) or when you have 300 gold or more.
* For keepsakes the extra duration on Well of Charon is strong early - stack up on heal per chamber and extra damage.I’ve never touched Charon’s keepsake. Used to spend all the money every singles chance I got, until I realise I could buy death defiance for 200. I guess it really depends on your style.
10% heal per chamber for an extra 6 chambers (9 total) and it's only 50 gold or something - it adds up pretty nicely, and should stop you using as many death's defiances
@Wyn-Ryder: That makes sense, I guess especially if you pick centaur hearts a lot. I always start with the cosmic egg to try and get the bonus darkness then switch to whichever I want to level up.
@frugalftw: I didn't use it once I had enough base health and death's defiances, but it helped to get further into the game earlier on
