  Definitely not agree with the description, the main point of chemex is to filter out those oils and the small particles of the coffee grounds which only achievable with paper filter resulting a very clean tasting and bring out the notes of the coffee that normally hard to achieve when using other methods like French press or espresso.

  If I want oily coffee I will go with French press, which then as you described "just flavoursome coffee"

    I’ve never had any pourover great but the description:

    making richer, bolder coffee

    …seems to be inaccurate. Compared to almost any other method, I believe it’s lighter and more subtle compared to espresso/Moka.
