Sennheiser CX300-II Precision Earphones $29 Delivered on Dealrun

70

I've never used or heard of dealrun before but this looks like a pretty good price for a decent pair of earphones. Free shipping. 4-6 weeks delivery. Limited Quantity. Cheapest I could find was $60ish.

Seems like this site is legit: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1953481

I know one post isn't a lot to go by, but since it is only $29 anyway I've decided to pull the trigger…

    Thanks OP.

  • these are good for the price, but the koss kcs75 are even better for $20 on ebay. (have tried both)

$23.95 delivered 99.4% good feedback out of 1647 from Oz.

    They are white though.

Aldo 4-6 weeks for delivery from dealrun? WTF?

I would spend $30 on Brainwavz instead any day of the week - especially if MP4nation do another $28 deal for the M4s, fantastic headphones.

I've owned CX-300 IIs and CX-400s. Both are good for sound, but if you can afford the upgrade the CX-400 is a much better built product.

beware of fakes of cx 300s on ebay tho

    • Looks legit, good feedback and seems to mainly sell earphones.

      • +5

most sold on ebay are fake trust me

        • Fair enough, what's to stop this mob doing the same though?

        • nothing at all

    • Beware of fake mostly anything Sennheisser on eBay…and any Sony earbuds, and probably most other major brands for that matter.
Anything can be copied in China if there's a market for it.

  • These used to be this price a few years back at mymemory uk.

    • They crop up around GBP13-15 on Amazon UK every now and then. I think it's been a while though.

  • Mmm the smell of fake.

If you are going to buy any Sennheiser, Bose, Dr.Dre, and few other popular headphone brands, please don't use any unauthorised/untrustworthy sellers no matter what….

So many fakes of varying quality come from Asian countries and its very hard to distinguish what is a fake and what isn't. I have seen some ridiculously similar looking counterfeits from Korean audiophile forums before. ALSO, even if the website is legit, Its entirely possible that the suppliers lied to these companies and sold them counterfeits.

  • yeah i'll echo the beware of fakes comments too. I've got some CX200s here that you won't be able to pick as fakes from the packaging etc.. but they're as fake as a man in a dress.

    sigh created an account just to comment for this;

The headphones are potentially fake, definitely buy at your own risk, there is no background business that dealrun.com has registered as working with at the moment who are retailing it at that price. I work for a large deal a day company myself, one of the 4; scoopon, livingsocial, groupon, spreets so i definitely know what does come onto the sites and quality control isnt very good for the majoraty of us i must admit,

Dealrun was selling a black amarni watch which retailed at 500 for only 199 before which led me to stumbling onto their site. I didnt end up purchasing from them but definitely buy at your own risk. I too have fallen for fake Sennheiser CX300-II Precision Earphones on eBay before.

    EDIT:
    From personal experience and future references;

DO NOT!!!! I repeat, do NOT purchase Cygnett earphones from catchoftheday. Both times i've purchased from that site, both times they retail fake Cygnetts, dodgey quality body, dodgey quality sounds.

As usual, the rule of thumb for products in deal a day sites, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is a fake.

    • ebay = fake.

  • These are great earphones. I'm tempted to buy another pair to keep as a spare.

      Couldn't resist. Ordered a set. :p

When they arrive I will compare them to my genuine ones just to be certain. If they're fakes I'll be asking for a refund.

  • Well, after 5 weeks and a couple of emails - the earphone finally arrived today.

The wait would've worth it if this is a genuine sennheiser (cx 300-II is the best earphone I've ever had btw) - but unfortunately it's NOT.
It's just another fake. You could easily tell by the quality of the packaging and some misspeling on the box - for example: "earacanal" on the right side of the box (near bottom), "U.S.aud.countries" on the bottom of the box.

This is very disappointing. I am yet to receive mine but I've just contacted Dealrun and asked for a refund. I expect them to refuse so I am prepared to go to the Department of Fair Trading in NSW to get my money back. Anyone else interested in joining me in this? Let's put these guys out of business. There is no excuse for this kind of deception and if they don't play nice they deserve everything they get.

Folks, I would stay clear of DEALRUN.COM. They have taken my money and no sign of my item 7 weeks later. They leave no contact number on the website and haven't responded to my request for a refund. ****Avoid at all costs****After researching online it seems if customers did eventually receive their items, they were fake anyway.AVOIDAVOIDAVOID

  • So I just received my earphones and the packaging definitely indicates they are fake. Dealrun has offered to refund my money if I return the headphones but I have contacted Sennheiser first to see what they suggest. If you received these you should definitely contact Dealrun and/or Sennheiser to work something out.

Here's the link on Sennheiser's website with their contact details:

Here's some photos of the offending headphones:

  • who did you contact? I still haven't recieved my headphones. I too will want a refund!

I am also with you to take it to department of nsw

    • Got this email today. You should definitely contact them and if they give you any problems, point them to this post.

I have spoken to management, we will refund you without you having to return the earphones.

      Apologies for the inconvenience.

      Kind regards,

      Maryanne

      • Thanks for that, I sent them an email last night however still waiting for a response. I'll let you know how it goes.

        • It took a few days for them to get back to me too. About 4 days, I think.

        • I got an email from them today saying that the $29 will be refunded to my pay pal account. Still no sign of the product though. What a let down that was.

I got a refund AND I got to keep the dodgy headphones. Thinking of sending them to Sennheiser so they can take a further look at them.
