Lol what to do with the books?

      Use as a heatsink?

Put them somewhere prominent as reminders of the dangers of unconstrained capitalism?

    • Give them to a charity shop to sell on!

The price keep dropping :) I used to tell myself that i will buy one when a decent gen4 ssd gets down to 150$ mark, now Im telling myself i wont go for it until I see a deal thats pcie 4.0 and TLC and must have DRAM.

Am i getting a bit greedy here and asking too much?

Wait for the Western Digital Black SN850 to drop below $200. It comes at or near the top on the various tests.

  • What's a reliable SSD with high TBW, not my boot drive so top speeds is not priority. My second slot is Gen 3, can I still install Gen 4 even it runs at Gen 3 speeds?

  • Would this go well in a PS5? Do I just need to find a heatsink that matches it?
    Thanks

I think it would fit (assuming the heatsink you add doesn't make it bigger than the PS5's size requirements).

Speed might be a problem… PS5 requirement is minimum 5500MBps while the SN770 is only 5150. I suspect it would still work but maybe a little slower? I'd probably only take a punt on it if you've got a PC or something that you could use it in instead if it ends up not working too well with the PS5.

  • Has the paperback price increased?

  • How does The Amazon DE thing work, do I have to go to that site and order for it to be delivered to AU? Can I use amazon vouchers? Can I get Shopback?

    Thanks

  • New to the world of M.2 SSD's. Have a PCI-e 3 board

Does DRAM matter? Do these need heatsinks - my motherboard didnt come with one. Will be used for boot drive + games

    • My understanding is that DRAM will help significantly if you’re using the SSD for boot.
It’s likely you’ll get away without needing the heatsink unless you’re slamming the drive relentlessly - which doesn’t seem like your use case.
      Grain of salt, tho.

      • Ok thanks I'll look for a DRAM one, won't worry much about the heatsink

  • Is this better or the 970 evo plus to use as a second drive in a gen 3 slot?
