Nope. These are easily the best boots I’ve ever worn. Made in Australia from quality leather, and sooo comfy. Got them to wear whilst metal detecting, but now I wear them with everything they are that good.

      • OK, good to know.

Yeah I have a pair of the safety boots (steel capped) by Redback, Made in Australia, and they are really great. I’m rural so they have been in mud, water, kicked things, dropped onto, etc and they take it all, and the fit is nice and tight. They are grippy in mud, and on roofs (corrugated iron). I’m thinking of buying these as a backup. Love supporting Aussie made too. These companies (Blundstone, Rossi, Redback, Mongrel , etc) are slowly reducing what they make here so we need to try support it so they keep it going. They all make the higher end stuff in Australia but the cheaper stuff overseas.

For Aussie made, this price is a steal. I paid $220ish for my Redbacks.

        • Last blunnies made in Aus are/were gumboots.

          • @competitions: Yeah I’m not much of a fan of Blundstone, they market themselves heavily as being Australian and gives you the impression they’re made in Tasmania. But they aren’t, and it is really hard to find where they’re made on the box.

My kids wear them because they are virtually the only brand that makes kids sizes.

  • Non Safety Work Boots

    eh…

    $7 more for steel cap.

    • You can get steel toe if needed, $97.88

    • The safety ones are cheaper

      • Eh. How much are the socks then… $80 with insoles lol

        • They are free aren't they ???

          • @jv: $17.68 free if you buy via that link I looked at.

      • Slightly different boot,Escape have lower quality leather.

      • Black ones are not as good leather. The brown is much nicer.

Very comfortable boots. Be aware they have a really long break in time to every other boot I have tried. I tried them because I was subscribed to Rose Anvil youtube who does boot reviews (Oh god please help me, I need help, I watch youtube videos of boots being cut in half) and he reviewed them and rated them really highly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqwbBpcElpE

Yes. Thought mine were too small at first. Two weeks later, fit like a glove and most comfy shoes I own. They’re just so good and grippy too. I wear mine on hikes and they look pretty smart with dark denim and a button down too.

      • Does the size run smaller? I am normally 11UK for boots.

    • Yep after wearing mine a month or two, they still feel tight but are loosening slowly. It’s taken longer than my old Rossi’s did.

    • That’s unlucky. Mine fit perfect straight up. Best boots ever. And Aussie made and owned.

    Thanks op. Bought one.

      Not a pair?

    • That's the steel cap version

      • Which is better

Up to you. I always prefer non safety as they are lighter, comfier and more versatile. I have done commercial gardening in them and don’t think steel toe is 100% necessary for that sort of work. I do have a cheap pair of Aldi steel caps as a back up, they are not comfy at all.

Thanks mate, went with those shoes and shoe protectors for gardening:

  • looks the same as rm williams craftsman

I'll echo these are top boots, I have 2 pairs and they have worn extremely well.
Better quality than Blundstone equivalent, though as others have mentioned, they need time to wear in.

I wear mine everyday 9months a year, and they are comfortable for everything from commuting to the office, working in the garden, or bush walking.

    Made in Australia, unlike blunnies.

  • Bought this instead. A bit pricier but better looking.

  • I've been wearing Redback's for more than 15yrs now however their recent ones, are really not that good in quality. Especially the stitches where the rear pull tabs are, easily come off…returned for an exchange for the new one having the same problem.

  • My rm comfort craftsman are 9.5G, I wear 11.5 US in asics kayano, Nb 860, etc

What size do I buy? I'm guessing 10.5AU?
