Flight Deals to Tokyo / Phillipines / Thailand [Dec-Jan]

Hi all, just looking to buy tickets for some travel to Japan and Phillipines or Thailand during the Dec / Jan period. I understand that this is peak time and offers / deals may be scarce. Just looking through the travel section of the deals tab often and always notice that promotional periods always extend up to Nov and then go on from Feb onwards. Any idea if in the past airlines would offer any deals for that peak Dec - Jan period in the coming months or if I should book now and avoid prices climbing higher?

    I would avoid going on Dec / Jan period, which includes holidaymakers plus people who go back home for Xmas which reflects on the demand and the price. I'm not sure about Thailand but Japan is shut down during the xmas period.

      oh no, what do you mean by shut down? that window is unfortunately the only time my partner and I can travel :(

        Japan doesn't "shut down over xmas period" regardless of whatever "tripsavvy" article is published.

        Hotels in some popular areas will be more expensive or just plain booked up (Shinjuku is already about 90% booked for xmas-new years), however we've got good accommodation in Ginza for about $120/n. Restaurants are open, shops are open, sights are open, just go it's amazing.

    Parts of Japan may be "shut down" but Tokyo will still be buzzing and its a good time to visit if you do not mind cold weather. You may even see some snow in Tokyo

    Yeh its tough to know when/if flights go on sale for the demand periods.

    We are looking to travel during Mar/Apr 2024. I have been monitoring the flight prices for the past month and they've only been going up…In some cases quite considerably.

    As a result, its tempting to buy now to lock in the current prices in case they increase further. That, and I want to ensure there are sufficient upgrade seats available for 4ppl.

    Absolutely no chance of getting any deals to Japan for that period.
    I booked in March this year with SIA for $1800 return Mel-Sin-Hnd (dec 24-jan 13). Told my friend to jump on that deal but she delayed - ended up paying $2700 for the same flights 3 weeks later.

      Yeh, I have SIA at $1900 return currently for March period, tempted to pull the trigger.
