I've had this before and it is very tasty. For this price it's a bargain

Shows as 50 for me. I guess OP means after the 20% off liquor it becomes 40

    • Yep. Have to go all the way to checkout

  • Does liquor count towards spend $x get y points deals?

    • +1

      Yes for me

  • +3

Nice! I picked up a bunch of discounted gins from first choice liquor (linked to coles), Manly Spirits ($35) and 23rd St ($42) this week - I thought they were store specific markdowns so probably worth looking out for in Coles and First Choice. Nice find OP!

    • +1

Manly Spirits make an excellent gin, big fan of the coastal citrus. Assume no longer a deal looking at their site…

      • Manly Spirits Lily Pilly pink 700ml wad $35 for 700ml, and 23rd street mulberry was $42 for 700ml. I came in to buy 1 bottle of wine and came out with 1 bottle of wine and three bottles of gin.

They were in the markdown section with prices on the bottle so I’m guessing won’t show on the website

  • Says unavailable

    • Switch to delivery rather than click and collect and it should show as available

  • Shows as unavailable for me. Guess that might be because supermarkets in SA don't sell booze?

    • +1

Nah they do, you need to be well versed in ColesFu.

Safer bets are stores with a Liqourland next door, or the delivery depots, ie. StClair, Noarlunga etc.

  • Well played OP. Bought 2.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 2

  • Assuming it’d not available in QLD per usual?

    • +1

Not at coles, but see my comment above re first choice, a bunch of markdowns on premium gin at my local.

      • Cheers. First choice is a bit out of the way for me, maybe it’s time to let the liver live. Oh wow, never thought of the liver in that context. The liver shall live!

        • Price Match from Dan's or BWS.
You can always find a better deal for a spare liver from ozb later.

  • Anyone tried the mulberry one?

    • Yes - it’s quite nice.

Managed to order from Marion for the guys looking in SA.
Grabbed some extra stuff to get the extra $10 off with the 'app10' code.

    • Nope, gin was cancelled but they honoured the discounts. I ended up paying $28 for 12 Cruisers and a 6 pack of craft beer. Not too shabby for being messed around.
I'll probably order the gin direct from a Liquorland with 10% off instead.

  • +2

Can also get via Liquorland with 23% cashback

    • $50 though

      • +1

        50 - (~45 x 0.23) = ~$39.65
BUT you have to hope LL doesn't stuff up the cashback. Not worth he angst for me personally. Definitely don't opt for LL delivery until you read the reviews.

  • I've seen these at Aldi (Casey) for around $3X I believe. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

    • +1

There’s a smaller bottle which I’ve gotten for a similar price at Aldi. That might be the one

    • Ohhh, cool thanks! Was thinking to try it just because of the gorgeous colour. Might head down tomorrow and try it out anyway. 😅

      • +1

        Tastes like purple..

        • I've enjoyed most purple things I've drunk.. 😅

Can't be any worse than the cochineal in the orange/red drinks.. 😅

  • Says unavailable, just my area?

    • me too

  • Great find OP.
    I got two for $72

  • +2

Being a Pom, I couldn't bring myself to drink this. This is the colour of methylated spirits in the UK - they add purple dye to stop people drinking it by mistake!

  • So I'm new to gin, I've always had it with either tonic or bitter lemon. How do you drink this purple stuff? Neat? Ice? Also tonic? Filtered through a loaf of bread first? (That last one is for @smd100 's benefit ;-))

    • +1

Taste it neat first (good idea for most gins). Then add tonic to your taste. Ice is usually good. Different gins go with different fruit or botanicals (inc herbs). Some, like the Botanist require nothing other than a garnish (eg slice of lemon) and Indian tonic. Your tastes may differ markedly though.

Not that I drink gin a lot but my go to's are The Botanist and lately the Irish Mil Gin with Fever Tree Indian tonic.

      • +1 for Botanist (and for tasting tips)

  • My order just got cancelled for no reason

  • Good for running the lawnmower this stuff

  • "This is a courtesy notification that your Coles online order has been cancelled."

    Oh how nice.

    • +1

The whole group's (Coles, LL, FCL) inventory control - including from their warehouses - is rubbish if my experience is anything to go by. Reviews seem to confirm it.

      • Wait until you meet the people who work behind the scenes at head office. Absolutely incompetent.

  • How’s this compare to Hendricks or Four Pillars

  • +2

Based on the above, was expecting my delivery order to be cancelled, but just took delivery of 2 bottles. Thanks OP!

  • Can't add to cart

  • Missed this one but grabbed two bottles of the Mulberry Gin for the same price ($40). Thanks OP
