I expect nothing but I’ll still be disappointed

    • +4

      What happens on prime day?

      • +34

AAA grade strippers, fly over fighter jets with coloured smoke show, giant chocolate fountain, bottomless mimosas, live chainsaw lumberjack ice sculpting, live welcome speech from jeff B, probably $59 4k fire stick max, and the usual everyday prices dressed up as exclusive prime day deals from the usual suspects such as heymix and ugreen

      • A Bunch of Optimus Prime autobot figurines will descend from the sky courtesy of Jeff Bezos.

    • +1

I'll be disappointed and expect nothing less

    • You expect disappointment

    • expected nothing, saw nothing, 3rd year in a row.

  • +3

It was 12th July last year so adjusting for Tuesday shift, 11th this year would make sense.

  • Hopefully they have some decent Blu ray's on special

  • hoping for a deal on a full auto coffee machine. looks like delonghi are on sale in the US for prime day, any luck it's the same here. eyeing off the magnifica evo titan…

  • +2

I've got a list of PC parts that I've been keeping track of in price, and I'll check if there's any good prices during these Prime Day sales.

    • +11

      Ok thanks.

    • Thank you

    • +1

Is there a good site for price history on pc parts? I was waiting for the new intel gen but since its just a refresh i might as well just do the build and except the fact the motherboard wont survive the next upgrade.

      • +4

3 places: OzBargain can just search up the item and see highly voted deals and what the prices were, Camelcamelcamel will show you what the price history was on Amazon, and PCPartpicker has a history graph of what the prices have historically been at their retailers

        • +1

          Cheers, didn't think of PCPartpicker!

  • Do items that are sold by 3rd party sometimes go on sale during prime day?

Im looking to buy a bambu printer

  • Anyone see or come across deals on Smart Locks like Aqara Zigbee or Eufy Smart Wifi Lock..

Please comment or reply to this with the deal link..

  • Does anyone know of they are doing iPad Air deals?

  • Only cashback deal is shopbacks westpac offer, disappointing…

  • Does it all start at midnight tonight? Or is early tomorrow morning the sensible approach?

    • Amazon's countdown is the same as the one on here ~ Midnight.

I will wait til tomorrow, easily

    • +1

The UK/US deals are normally much better, they start at UK/US time, about 9/14 hours time difference from Syd/Mel

  • +2

Hoping for some decent RAM deals

    • Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) only 7% off dang

  • +8

Should I stay up until midnight or not bother? Been a few years of Prime Days and I am always underwhelmed but still keep coming back cause I'm addicted to the dopamine ht

    • For prime definitely not lol.

  • +2

Hoping to see decent discounts on gaming controllers and videos games

I swear most first party ps4/5 games were around $20-$40 near xmas and all above $50+ now

Hopefully some cheap samsung phones also but expected to be disappointed

  • +1

Likelihood of (decent) Nintendo switch games?

  • There seem to be some good deals on garmin watches
    https://www.amazon.com.au/deal/4b1408c1?showVariations=true&…

    • I got a deal on the Garmin 945 for a family member, rebel was happy to price match the two cheap online sellers ($500).

    • Which Garmin are you interested and why Garmin over google or Samsung?

    • +2

Saw this Garmin Instinct Esports Edition for $279 and wondered… Why does esports athletes need GPS?

      • +2

With a dedicated Esports activity profile, track and analyse your body metrics while gaming
Broadcast your stress level and heart rate1directly to gaming streams through STR3AMUP! —empowers you to share a new live stream experience

Wow. That's a bit of a desperate marketing reach.

        • Live HR data on a stream would be pretty cool.

      • So you can prove you never left your battlestation ;)

  • +4

I ordered some paper towels. That's probably enough prime day deals for me.

  • -4

Never joined prime before… Don't think that's going to change any time soon.

  • +4

Is Amazon actually shit? It seems to be 99% no name $2 store crap with the odd bargain thrown in.

    e.g.

1 I bought cheap condiments only to find that were two weeks off expiry

2 A network device that didn't work and only had a US power plug.

3 Prices are all over the place and seem to change hourly.

What is actually appealing about Amazon?

    • +1

sounds like you're doing it wrong :P

      • +1

Obviously. What category of goods is Amazon good at ?

        • +1

          Games, books.

    • +1

Certainly have had a bad experience with bega peanut paste. One lot was 2 weeks till best before date. Tasted terrible and was refunded. Bought a second lot and still tasted stale. Assume it's the heat in the warehouse?

      • Same with coffee beans for me. Thankfully most of my coworkers have no taste and used it all…

        • +1

Hope they don't see your comment 😀

    • +3

Yes, Amazon is pretty shit here compared to overseas. Lots more generic terrible crap from China at higher than K-Mart prices. It's far more usable in Asia, the US and UK.

  • +5

Damn even the stuff I had in my saved for later that they jacked the price up of last week hasn’t been discounted

  • +4

I got air fryer time to eat and get fat

    • +1

I still remain one of the last few air fryer skeptics.

      • +3

There are dozens of us… DOZENS!

      • +1

I was actually too, but they are pretty useful. For reheating small pieces of food they are kind of like the cooking quality of an oven combined with the (almost) speed of a microwave.

      • They're just mini fan forced ovens, which have been around forever. They came up with the catchy Air Fryer name and now everyone has gone crazy over them. Marketing genius.

      • -1

Got an air fryer. It doesn't get much use and imo not worth the kitchen space.

  • +12

    What a let down…. again

  • some good deals, just on stuff i dont need. kindle paperwhite with cashback seems good, but again, dont really need it

  • +2

terrible effort from amazon as usual

  • +7

I was looking at an electric toothbrush prior to this sale and it was $79 - now it is $105. Go figure

  • +9

I havent encountered a single deal so far that wasnt cheaper pre-prime at some stage… this has been a letdown.

  • I'm only after and Echo Show to go with my ring…. Everything else looks meh.

  • why is it primeday?

    whabbout ebay ?

    • +1

Looking at front page it would seem the better bargains are on eBay today

      • contrarily im seeing mostly [prime] tags on frontpage

  • what a ship show

  • +3

I can't complain too much because I did order a heap of skin care which was at a very good discount.

But even compared to last year, there was double the 4K content at 30-40% cheaper. Some titles have been discounted 5-8%…wow thanks Amazon. It's literally cheaper on a random Tuesday than "pRiMe DaY!!"

    • Yeah JB regularly have 2 for 1 or 30% off blurays. They are giving 5-15% off. Lol ok

  • Does officeworks do a price beat on these deals Eg: Shokz Open Run

  • +1

    Kinda meh so far.

  • There's a couple ultrawide monitors around the $500-$600 mark, such as prism and lg ultragear. Which one is best?

  • So where are these amazing deals since it's hit midnight in the US?

Edit: Looks like they go by PDT so it'll start 5pm AEST

    • Still nothing!!

  • +4

Jeez, Talk about people just dumping everything amazon has on sale onto ozbargain. I had to turn off my subscription to amazon on ozbargain due to the sheer level of emails and junk that got posted this morning.

    • +1

yea, no actual sales in 80% of the "prime" deals posted on here… trying find a diamond in the rough.

      • Thats the problem when people just post every single junk they can find. It clogs up the joint so it makes it hard to actually sift through and find the diamond… People need to realise its Ozbargain, not just post anything that has a slight change in price or back in stock.

  • Pretty average. Cleared some long desired DVD box sets off my list and topped up the pantry. That's been it so far.

Nothing really for Xmas or upcoming birthdays. Looks like I'll have to pray for a recession and Black Friday sales.

  • +6

This has to be the worse Prime Day for as long as I can remember! Almost everything that I bought was cheaper or the same price prob a few months ago.

    • +2

Looks like they did a good job. Low enough so you still bought it :)

  • +1

First time Amazon subscriber (Fortunately I didn't sign up just for Prime Day). For the few groceries I was interested in getting, they are sold out. So far not impressed given the lead up excitement. KFC Zinger offer was more exciting/better value today.

  • Does US coming online for prime day mean we get better deals?

  • +6

prime day is going the way of crap frenzy with the disappointing quality of discounts.

  • They might have had more sales if they waited until next week, as tax refunds will start coming through from the 14th of July onwards (I'm also gutted that I can't splurge my tax refund on the Amazon Prime Day).

  • +2

I was unable to find one good deal worth buying in this prime day sale ,
lucky enough did not buy the GV

    • GV?

      • ya the $150 one :D

  • +3
Merged from Prime Day Worse Than A $1 Zinger?

Not spent a cent on Amazon Prime Day deals so far (and i've been trying!)
I see ozbargain covered in prime deals with lots of upvotes, but how many people are actually buying this stuff?
What have you bought this Prime Day (so far)?

    • soup, wipes, toys, books, shampoo

    • +5

This is OzBargain, plenty of weak fomo types will buy just about anything if they think everyone else is buying.

      • +1

        Especially if it's on Amazon.

    • i bought the ps5 dualsense charging dock

    • +1

Excuse me, $1 Zingers are a Zinger of a deal
