This bit holding screwdriver was a good value, I was considering even at full price.
Now, at 42% off - a real bargain.
Here, I give you a break from Japanese tools.

PS there are some infuriated coments that it is "not going to work" because the handle will not allow one to reach in hard to reach places. I think that such a short shaft is the benefit of the tool. The closer your hand is to the fastener the easier it is to manipulate. And if the access is hard - one can use a regular screwdriver or an extender. But in any case I do not think this tool was designed to be one's one and only bit holder. There are regular screwdrivers with 100mm and 150mm shaft. Which one is easier to manipulate? Take a guess.

Does it come with bits? Description says it has 810 but theres no way thats right.

Probably lost in translation considering the model "810BH"

Thank you for the clarification, that didn't even occur to me

I'm hoping for a ratchet version of this at a good price.

Not heard of the brand but +1 for something that looks like a comparable alternative to the commonly posted Wera deals.

    • Can confirm, Hazet is a high quality German tool brand. A guy I know swears by them. I’ve started my collection with Wera but great to see Amazon allows us access to them now.

    • hazel and stahlewille ….great german brands , don’t see much in australia due to cost ….

      • masters used to sell stahlwille. bought the entire set of spanners in their closing down sales

In the 3rd picture he knows it's not going to work. It's a good demonstration of why these tools suck. Because the bulky head with short shaft won't fit in lots of spots. Get a screwdriver set instead - they are not expensive.

    • Or just use an extension bit like in the 5th image?

      • +1

Even the 5th picture looks dodgy.

They don't replace a screwdriver set.

        • I've got a picquik that holds 6x 75mm bits in the handle, and another in the bit holder. It's heavy but it definitely has replaced a screwdriver set for me.

And as a bonus the bits can be used in an impact driver too.

    • This is a bit holder, not intended to be a replacement of a screwdriver or a set. I plan to use it with my 60 hex and torx bits of different sizes and length. A set of hex and torx screwdrivers will be very expensive. Plus, I can use the existing bits in a torque wrench with an adapter.
But surely, I will also buy a vessel screwdriver (ratcheting type is about the same price as this) to compliment that if I am unlucky enough to work with PH and slots.

  • There's always a few gems of wisdom hidden in the comments, like the one above.

I have this, it is excellent. Highest quality available from any brand, hold bits securely, made in Germany, the bulky handle is actually much more useful than a skinny handle to put some torque into your fastener.

I use it with Wera bits as Hazet bits are expensive and not as good (Wera lasertip and hex plus are the best of all brands).

I think I bought it www.kctoolco.com (shipping is expensive). www.handtools-from-germany.com are also good.

    • I tried to find a good set of Wera hex and torx bits but could not find anything perfect. Either too expensive or not the bits I wanted. But they do look great.

      • Wera and other brands sell empty bit cases, so just buy the individual bits you want. They are going to be more expensive than crap from China, but hex and torx bits can last for relatively a long time. The hex plus technology from Wera is worth the cost.

Wiha are also good and a little cheaper, and you can often find repackaged stuff sold by Bosch on sale.

Irwin and anything cheaper are waste of time and money.

        • Thank you. I like Vessel bits… That's probably what I would stick to. But I will check all others as well of course. Look, do you know any good wrench to hex adapters? 3/8 inch wrench to 6.35 hex quck bit adapter?
I spent hours yesterday, but it is all either crap or expensive and non perfect. For example, Wera adapters https://www.amazon.com.au/Wera-Zyklop-Adaptor-Square-Drive/d… look good, but I do not think they will work properly with longer 13mm checuk step Japanese bits. (as you know European beats have a step at around 8mm mark and Jap at around 10 or so) so the fixing ball might need to be deeper.

  • Best place for a set of long bits? Tbh I only use Philips & slotted

    • Would like to know that as well. There is great variety at aliexpress but the quality leaves much to be desired most times. I am after some really nice ones now, but the sets either have lots of repeating ones, or the price is ridiculous, or the set only has like 4-5 bits. I am after hex and torx though, philips and slotted are easy to find I think.

    • Look for brands sold at the stores I posted above. They are sold elsewhere, like Amazon. For long bits it’s worth buying a more expensive brand with a better head for Phillips, as cheap Phillips bits will disintegrate quickly but you already had to spend more more to buy a cheap long bit. Wera with the lasertip technology are worth the cost.

Alternatively buy a bit extender and just put short bits into it.

  • It shows $32 now?
