The Sharp BDHP20X Blu-ray player is available at [Bing Lee](http://binglee.com.au "Bing Lee") for $249. It is a discontinued model but handles Blu-ray and DVD fine. I have used it so if anyone has questions happy to help.

  • I don't this this supports the new blu-ray 2.0 profile or whatever it is, I would check before buying.

    • It does not - it is only Profile 1.0. It would be worthwhile considering what the benefits are of 2.0 and then seeing if you need them. Many people might not even know/notice the differences.

  • Well, most discs/movies now support Profile 2.0 (BD-Live) so be careful if you are buying a Blu-Ray player.

    That said I think you can still play the movie on a Blu-Ray player with 1.0 profile
    but you cannot access the bonus features.

  • i never view the bonus feature such as Director's Comment etc.. on DVD anyway, so Blu-ray 1.0 is fine with me. Guess this one is a good buy considering a DVD upconversion player already cost $120.

  • they suck.. get sony BDPS350 from a sony centre for $399 and get 5 free blu-rays!! thats heaps better
