Have been umming and ahhing about which powerbank to buy for travel. Baseus one listed recently seems to have some pretty terrible reviews. This one seems to fit the bill nicely and is the cheapest of the 100W PD < 100Wh available.

Having recently travelled to Thailand and Singapore i recommend sticking to 10,000mah. They checked the capacity at every security point.

Interesting - I thought the limit was 100wh (so around 27000mah) for carry on?

      • My search results suggest 20,000 is OK. But a lot of the signs said 10,000 max.. perhaps outdated signage, likely actually.

        • The International Civil Aviation Organisation revised its recommendations in April of this year in order to help universalise guidelines. It is possible the signs were accurate at 10,000mAh just a few months ago.

    • 20,000mah is fine though right? like the size is usually 100wh / 26750 or theirabouts. Or is it more that it's just "too big looking"

They were reading the text/labelling thoroughly. So not physical size but the capacity is their concern. Best check country regulations when buying and travelling to be sure your dont end up donating your new toy

I also came to conclusion smaller power bank is the way to go for me. I was on a 3 day cycling tour flying the bike with me so had both airline and weight to factor in.

But for more capacity I'd just get 2x 10,000mah. More charging ports, and redundancy .

Just took this one through numerous security points including Australia, Singapore, Thailand, France and England and is under the maximum so fine for carry on. Was checked by security screening agents a few times and was found to be fine. Cant remember precisely but I think its rated at 96wh on the sticker - its defiantly under 100wh.

      • its defiantly under 100wh.

They took the stand did they? 🤣

    • Nice! Any bad reviews on these?

      • +1

It's really good in handling charging my Macbook pro m1 and Samsung galaxy s21 ultra. No issues so far, and I also travelled with it twice without any airline approval and no one raised any concerns.

    • -1

Yeah but that's over the maximum capacity for most airlines

      • +2

        20000mAh is 74Wh
        27000mAh is 100Wh

100 Wh is the max without needing airline approval.

This is 26800mAh so slightly less than 100Wh.

      • Its not. Its rated at 96wh on the sticker. I have had this checked at numerous airport check points and its absolutely fine.

The Kogan one is like 150g lighter, despite having a metal case… which makes me very curious about REAL world capacity etc…

  • get the Baseus 20,000mah 100w one for the same price.

Baseus has a lot of bad reviews recently, I prefer the form factor of the Blade but the QC seems to be a bit shoddy

      • interesting, I have had a couple over the last few years and all been flawless.

  • Was looking at this just now as well. Tempted…

    Any first hand experience?

    • I had a Imuto power bank which ended up expanding and bulging after a year or so. It was one of their past models though, but I personally wouldn't buy that brand again.

    • I have this one. It's great. The only issue I had is that my phone uses its own charging technology (Oppo's SuperVOOC) which means it will only fast charge using an Oppo charger. If you have a normal PD charging phone/laptop, it will work great.

Has been this price with and without voucher for awhile now. I've been waiting for it to drop or for SB/CR to provide additional $ savings

100% true. I paid the same price a couple of months ago. It's still good value if you need one immediately.

Ive got this - it’s my fav powerbank (I own like 6)

    • 100 in and out - charge the thing in 1.5hrs.
    • works with an Apple Watch / AirPods and doesn’t turn off like other ones if you are only charging that.
    • many ports.

I will flag though this didn’t charge for me with a 87w or 100w legit apple charger for some reason. It did work with other chargers (dell, generic brand) I also tested it with the 75w new apple charger that comes with 15” MacBook Air which strangely worked fine.

    Picked this up, arrived today.
Quite good quality actually, i'm impressed.
Time will tell how the batteries hold up, it is however thick and heavy, not good for the slim backpack or bag owner.
