        Depending on if you are going more for skiing/boarding (and if you have a resort preferance) the Perisher one probably has a few more benefits eg 1 free day for you and a friend this season after Sep 10 (good if you don't already have the pass) and then discounts for friends next year (currently $15 off 5x 1 day tickets) and 15% off food - but the Thredbo one is a great deal for all year usage, esp if you're into mountain biking/golf/swimming etc

          where does it say $15 off 5x1 day tickets? that was this year, but i dont see any equivalent thing for next years freedom pass.

      Skiing is free. Using the lifts to get you to the top of the mountain is not.
