Ryobi Hydrosurge Pressure Washer 2300W (150 BAR) $229 at Bunnings (Was $299)

100

Was planning to buy the Larger Petrol Ryobi Cleaner which is $499 but when I went into Bunnings I saw this one. The Ryobi Sales rep said Bunnings had discontinued them. They also had the smaller 1800W (130 BAR) unit which was listed as $219 but he said they were now $175 although i cannot confirm this price as It wasn't marked on the self as this.
The Ryobi website says this unit has a water flow rate of 320-360 L/hr but the box has a flow rate of 400 L/ph printed on it.
The ryobi pressure washers have a 2 year warranty.
Ryobi is also exclusive to Bunnings these days so this is obviously the best price you will get for these particular units.

  • Also, for those interested I picked mine up at the Harbour town store on the Gold coast and they had 4 left in boxes and one display. The Nerang store had 3 displays that i could see and the New Oxenford store had none at all.
The 3 stores all had the smaller unit.

  • Stupid question. Is this one petrol?

    • Electric as the says 2300W (2300 Watt)

From the specs at their site:
      Power Input: 2300W
      Motor Type: Induction
That would be an electric induction motor.

"Stupid question. Is this one petrol?"

      Yes. No. :)

  • Anyone know how loud the motor is on this model?

    • sound pressure level.. 76.6 dB(a)
      sound power ……… 90.2 dB(a)

but I don't know really what that sounds like.

  • Not too bad bought one myself. The Pressure is pretty good. Better than the K-Mart one that I got awhile ago. Features + Pressure wise it is ALOT cheaper than Gerni or Kercher. It uses a steel braided hose, looks and feels high quality.

Nunawading Vic, Has 1 More left + 1 Display (not sure if they sell display's or not)

  • Got one at Mount Gravatt (QLD) yesterday just before closing. They still had a stack. Looks good, haven't used it yet. Damn big and heavy though.

  • Got the last 1800W / 130BAR model at Bankstown $174. Still had the sticker on it for $299.

    • That must be an old sticker, the 150 model also had a shelf price of $299 (marked down to $229). Have you used it yet?

  • I used mine today and found it quite good. The actual gun takes a little to get used to with the ten metre hose but once u get used to the feel of it it's way better than my older Karcher with three metre hose. No need to move the unit as often.
Did the driveway and some paving. It comes with four tips. I tried the 15<, 25< and 40< with the 40< being the best suited for my needs.

    • Hi, did it come with a turbo nozzle (ie a black nozzle where the water stream swirls in a circular motion)? That type of nozzle is used the most for cleaning concrete etc to get both the power of a thin jet as well as increase the coverage area due to the swirling motion)? Thanks in advance.

      • No sorry but nozzles just plug on so you may be able to buy one.

Thanks - I saw on the Ryobi site that it was available as an add-on, and some of the YouTube videos show this as a standard accessory on the HomeDepot version in the USA. They also seem to use the 15 degree one on concrete with quite a lot of success.

I just got the ExpandIT turbo nozzle (PWA409) off ebay for £15.88 inc. shipping:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251139885765

Maybe you can locate one on there, if not there is plenty of generic ones on there for about $40-50.

Something like this would work the same:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270949007975

If you want a "genuine" one from what Ryobi Recommends then this site would help you:
          http://www.magic-parts.co.uk/acatalog/Ryobi-Washer-Accessory…

After postage it should cost about £25.00ish

Thanks heaps. I went in to 2 Bunnings stores on the weekend and saw that they actually carry the full range of Expand-It. The turbo nozzle is $19.95.

BTW, if anyone is still watching this thread, North Parramatta NSW still has one unit, and they also have one shop-floor unit of the smaller version as well which they said they were willing to sell for $140 (no box, instructions etc, only missing a green jet, but everything else is complete).

  • Having used the 150Bar model today for the first time, I really like it. The hoses and fittings are way better than my old $1000 Karcher (from 2002). Geez it is much bigger and heavier though :)

  • "The Ryobi Sales rep said Bunnings had discontinued them."

It looks like they seem a bit confused about discontinuing them. There are still some in a few Brisbane stores but they are back at $299. The staff say that the promo finished. Does anyone know where one is still priced at the $229 clearance price?

  • Finally fired it up today for a brief stint. This thing is mighty powerful and I like it! There is no need for a turbo nozzle as the 15 degree nozzle is already more powerful than any turbo nozzle I have used by Gerni and Karcher, and the area covered is also wider, so cleans concrete driveways a lot faster. I think I can get the same job done in half the time. I tried it out on the brake dust on my 4WD's wheels and it blew it away, whereas the previous Karcher (5 series) could only lighten the amount of brake dust. I suggest being careful with the narrower angle nozzles as you can do some damage to painted surfaces if not careful - start with the 40 degrees and work towards the more powerful nozzles.
