  • Which is the best OzBargain, a $5000 machine for making me a couple of cups of coffee a day, or a near $10,000 machine that saves me having to pedal? Nah, can't decide. Its tough living in the first world.

  • Are the rrp's inflated? What are the motors like?
I just ordered the focus thron deal instead

    • +1

rrp's are inflated. I think when they were 50% off rrp, they were priced very competitively. extra 25% off that is downright cheap. Particularly the mid spec model, carbon frame, carbon wheels in a lightweight e bike package. You can't get that anywhere else for under $7000. The bike only weighs 17 - 19kg depending on model and size.

There is a pretty good review on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jairmrvR_Fk

The motor seems plenty strong enough for a lightweight ebike. It's in a different category than Focus Thron which is a full weight, full power ebike.
The motor, which is made by Bafang can be opened and serviced. Which is a very welcome feature.

Focus Thron is a good buy as well though, enjoy.

      • Crazy that only a few months ago these were $12-17k.

Would imagine they basically sold zero of them and that's probably continued.

I really like the idea of an integrated battery/controller but it's probably a harsh reality that any crash could basically result in a 100% loss of function due to the proprietary nature of the designs.

  • I think your shipping is a bit off. I only paid 90$ish. The "get some a mechanic to build it for you" was $300.

    • +2

I'm in WA. When i checked shipping, the mechanic to build for you was the cheapest option at $300. Standard shipping was around $320.

Good that it's cheaper for you.

  • Sad that the previous deal got so many more votes than this. Bargain fatigue I guess. I was trying to negotiate a better deal on the previous one but they said they could only go $500 lower. Lies I tell you lies.
