Up to 40% off Atypical, Pillar and AXIL Coffee Beans (eg. Burundi S/O $49.40/kg) & Free Delivery @ Direct Coffee

120

Hey Folks,

Hope everyone's been having a good June :) Great to be back on deck pulling together some interesting coffee deals after a quick mid-year break to visit family overseas.

We're back with a diverse spread of value packs that should offer something to everyone pulling shots on an espresso machine (or similar setup). A big, full bodied and juicy Burundi from Atypical.

Yes! We've still got about a shelf of red wine glasses left to complement the value packs from Atypical. I think they should last for the duration of this deal - but best to get in quick ;)

We've also got plenty of filter options in the bundle section :)

If you need a recommendation or any other help please don't hesitate to reach out.

Cheers,
Tim

I cannot see any bargain here. Who would seriously pay your mentioned full price?

    • +5

Thanks for your feedback! Different options for different people and tastes I guess? We keep an eye on what other roasters/stores offer (both in terms of the type of coffee they sell and the price point), and I believe in a like for like comparison we're competitive.

      • +1

Fair enough. Good luck with your sale.

OP is a pretty regular poster here and if you go look at those coffee roaster websites, you will see directcoffee often offers substantial discounts comparatively (+free or cheap express shipping).

      • Thanks :)

    • No complaints from me! Free express shipping plus 2 free wine glasses. Super quick response from OP when asked questions, what more do you want? I ordered the Atypical Candid in the sealed 250g cans last time and the beans were super fresh. Very happy with my purchase. I’ve just put another order in for the same, should really try some different blends really!

  • Any single origin or something suitable for V60 brew? Cheers

    • Absolutely! All the options from Pillar and AXIL will go well. Do you have preferred flavours/origins/roasters?

      • I like Code Black but doesn't look like they are on sale except the espresso blends?

I like light roasts that have fruit tea notes, I have tried La Divisa from Bolivia that was really great, I am trying to find another bean like it.

  • +1

Atypical candid is great and the red wine glasses are really good too

    • Glad to hear it :)

  • Previously ordered Atypical Candid twice, and have enjoyed it as flat whites.

How does "Pillar - ETHIOPIA GEDEB GOTITI - Espresso" compare to Atypical Candid, with milk? Enough to cut through?

Any chance of getting the wine glasses with the Pillar batch, pretty please?

    • Glad you enjoyed the Candid!

Pillar give their espresso roasts plenty of development so the Gedeb won't get washed out.

However, the fruity flavours may create a bit too much acidity for some.

Personally, I like these kind of medium developed fruity coffees with milk. But some will say it's too sour for their liking.

Safer bet for a milky would be the Bom Jesus :)

You're in luck, wine glasses with some Pillar value packs is actually on the to do list. Just leave a comment and we can make you a beta tester for this promo :)

      Cheers,
      Tim

      • Can we do delay shipping? I still have some stocks to fin. Thanks

        • +1

We can delay any of these deals until Friday week (30/06).

A bit hard to guarantee stock beyond that I'm afraid.

          Just leave a comment :)

          • @directcoffee: If I asked for an order of Candid to be delayed a week, does that mean it's still roasted 22nd, or would it be roughly a week later? Thanks.

            • +1

@Gav: Glad you asked! Coffee would be roasted Thursday week (29/06) in this case :)

          • @directcoffee: I’ll make an order but still have one more 250g ton of atypical to finish. do i order on 30th?

      • Awesome. I'll take a chance with the Gedeb Gotiti. I tend to like the Ethiopian bean profiles.

Placed a note on the order (Order #21742) about the wine glasses with my ozbargain username in for reference ;) Cheers for that.

        • Got the note :)

  • I usually go for the Campos ‘Superior Blend’, do you recommend anything that would be similar?

    • anything is better than campos

      • Thanks, I’ll take your useless comment into consideration.

    • +1

Sorry! I'm just catching up with this. Let me check the details of Superior so I can offer up a few suggestions :)

      Cheers,
      Tim

      I'd suggest trying these:
      - Proud Mary Angel Wings
      - Proud Mary Humbler
      - Padre Golden Rule
      - Padre Wild Child
      - Wide Open Road Bathysphere

      • Much appreciated Tim, I’ll have a browse through now.

        • No worries at all :)

  • Still waiting for signs of dispatch for this week's order (was postponed from week before). Pinged you OP.

    • +1

Sorry I haven't replied to your PM. Was trying to get to the bottom of why you didn't get a dispatch email and then forgot to reply. Will fire off a a reply now.

  • Having issues adding Atypical Candid Espresso to my cart in a bundle deal. Doesn't seem to add the 4x bundle discount?

Very happy to see Pillar Brazil Mantiqueira back again though, it's a winner!

    • Sorry to hear that! Does the issue persist when using an incognito window?

Absolutely - always love having the Manti :)

      Cheers,
      Tim

      • I just ordered the other Atypical instead – haven't tried that one yet! :)

        • Oh nice!

  • What would you recommend for a fruity (apple, mango, orange) filter pour over?

Cartel Grand Master 1kg value pack for a latte? :-P

    • +1

Sorry I missed this! Looks like you've chosen some pretty tasty filters :)

Yeah why not! When do you need to restock?

      • I went with some Pillar for some fruity flavours.

I've almost finished a random 1kg bag from a supermarket and it's just not cutting it. 🤦‍♂️

I'll probably order some Grand Master when I get through 500g of Pillar 😁

Side-note: So much Hario stuff is now available via Amazon Japan 🥳

        • Oh no! That's not good :( Easy - just give me a ping when you're 5 days out.

Oooh interesting - still a good deal even when you factor in shipping?

          • @directcoffee: Yeah! Amazon Australia recently added Amazon Japan stuff so that there's free international shipping for Prime members.

            Hario, Kalita etc.

          • @directcoffee: If you see a product listing with "Sold by: Amazon Japan" you can click that, and then click "View the Amazon Japan storefront" to bring up a page to search for products and filter by brand. I found it only really works on a desktop view of the page. The app or mobile pages keep redirecting back to an Amazon Australia search thing and make it difficult to find products sold by Amazon Japan.
