      • i can tell a diff up to the $140 or so mark.

very, very diminishing returns over that.

you can actually tell a diff with expensive champagnes more easily.

    • lots of gold medals at shows and just means no faults in a wine, but only one trophy and that is the best wine out of all the gold medal winners, gold medals means good wine, trophy mean best wine out of all the gold medal wines …… some trophies are worthless "peoples' choice at tennant creek wine show" which had 50 wines entered from local drive-though vs the big international events where it could be best wine out of 2000 entries in a class ……

  • Why would a person drinking $700 bottle of wine is in OzBargain? Doesn’t make sense. 🤣🤣🤣

    • +2

Otherwise they'd be drinking an $850 bottle of wine (21.4% more expensive). Being wealthy does not have to equal being prodigal.

    • some people gamble, some people take drugs, some drink expensive wines. Depends what makes you feel good when you have enough eneloops.

  • is this drop recommended by Barry O'Farrell?

  • Genuine question- does anyone know if this comes in the presentation box? Or how I find out this info

I need to buy 6 bottles for a work function as presents so would be an easy way to save some coin

    • If you're in Sydney/Melbourne (i.e. not the states with strict liquor licencing laws), you should be able to go in-store and pick it up (and see it before you buy it). It'll possibly be cheaper too as the online price includes delivery.

    • Mine did. It also had a bottle stopper etc also included.

  • wak - last time I bought bin 95 was probably around 1973 - when if I recall it might have cost me around $12

so if $700 is regarded as a discount price now, something has definitely changed !!!

e.g. looks like 8.5%pa inflation when historical inflation of other things might have averaged 3.5% … wak !

  • 17 not the best vintage

  • -1

    Bought two dozen, thanks OP.

  • Perfect timing. I got Barry O'Farrell in the work KK for Christmas in July
