  • Using them as coach lights, works good

These are rubbish, got them on mark down at Bunnings for like $2 and gave up on them. Never worked right for me.

Might be ok as a dumb light.

    Edit: referring to wiz.

You need their app to operate. I can't see these bulbs in the Google Home app. Oh, and once I finished setup, these bulbs are routing my 2.4GHz wifi network through it. Every now and then, my phone gets connected to this wifi which offers such a poor network speed. What on earth going on? Waste of time for me to use these bulbs for its smart home feature. Otherwise, ok. Hence no deal or bargain here.

      • Your phone should be set to 5G preferred or you need an extender

"these bulbs are routing my 2.4GHz wifi network through it"

Your lightbulbs are now a wifi extender? ngl that's impressive

        Smart home, clueless owner?

Initial setup is via the free Wiz app, and is relatively painless as long as you broadcast a 2.4ghz network and network authentication is set to WPA2 (not WPA3) for Wiz devices.

Once setup via the Wiz app, Wiz can be linked to SmartThings and/or Google Home and controlled via your preferred app.

They're great value, IMO. But the setup process must be followed to the letter.

  • Just an update. I got my order, three of them. It would make a total of 7 light bulbs from this brand including the one from the previous deal. I couldn't be happier. It works flawlessly. Simple installation and it integrates well with Alexa as expected. For anyone who is interested but hasn't yet decided, you can drop me a line. As above the people who knock it are more than likely because of user error
