One for the Magic fans out there!

Brothers' War Set booster boxes are $136.54 each from Amazon JP which is already a decent price. But there are also 2 separate promotions that stack: buy 3 get 10% off and buy 2 get 5% off.

Buying 3 brings it to $348.18 or $116.06 per box, $3.87 per booster. Probably cheaper than what it costs local retailers!

Don't buy MTG, Pokemon or YGO from Amazon. Support your LGS and the place you play at. LGS's suffered due to covid closures meanwhile Bezos and co just got richer.

Doesn't that pretty much apply to the majority of local options, with Amazon killing them with borderline illegal practices?

Not saying you don't have a point. Just saying the majority of people prefer cheap, unfortunately!

lol no thanks, most LGS in cities price gouge and overprice loose cards because "i RuN a BrIcK aNd MoRtaR".

You'll be lucky to find one that isn't run by neckbeards with questionable hygiene standards.

EDIT: The real reason you shouldn't buy from Amazon is because there's risk of opportunistic warehouse workers opening and resealing boxes. Happens in the US and given the market in Japan at the moment, it's a matter of time before someone realises there's money to be made.

  • Just waiting for jap Pokémon cards

How dare people enjoy different things that you don't enjoy >:(

    • Clothing is just cotton (or plastic lol). Jewellery is just metal?

But in all seriousness, you designing a card game. It's bloody hard! I will grant you, Hasbro is definitely eroding some value in mtg however…

Hah, it sure is! Deliciously addictive cardboard lol

Just as LEGO is just plastic and console games are just DVDs :D

Would these be in Japanese ?

Description and images say English, but who knows with Amazon. Once I get mine, I'll report back if they're not English

MTG is pretty cheap in Japan but big caveat is when the card is in Japanese and you are playing you need to know the cards inside out and what they do. That's been my experience.

Otherwise you'll be at a disadvantage when playing. It adds a level of complexity that can be quite annoying. It's easy to forget cards are there or have to be explain to others what the card does because they can't understand the text. If you are prepared and can overcome this then it's definitely a deal
