    Amazing price.

  • Thanks, got 1

Wouldn't mind a special on the white one - it'd match everything else in the kitchen!

    • i believe the white one is only available in the higher priced digital model.

Fantastic air fryer. Purchased nearly four years ago, and still going strong, using it daily.

  • +2

Air fryers, so hot right now

  • +1

This one's a beast. Had one for 3 years and use every day. Very easy to clean and the parts are robust.

  • +1

How does this compare with cheap models such as what's sold at kmart: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/53l-air-fryer-43128891/

Just don't see what you get with this for an extra $200.

    • It’s a different league really. But if you just want the job done, then get the Kmart for less money.

      • Fair enough, I bought the kmart one a few years ago and it's chugging along pretty well, was just curious what I'm missing out on.

      • Yeah care to explain?

    • I can say it is different. You will understand when you use it. It was the same experience with robot vacuum too. $500 vs $2300, it’s like entering into new world. Hahaha

    • Toyota v Lexus really. Build quality and fixtures are far superior. Plus it is much better insulated keeping the heat in the cooking area. Much better end result quicker.

      • The last sentence is the summary - much better result and quicker

      • +1

Doesn't Toyota own Lexus? They share platforms

    • +1

      A big difference.
I had the same thought ages ago. Dad had a cheap one that worked, we ended up buying a Philips.
Philips is quiet … fan is quiet, beeps less.. user interface is better..less button presses, bigger range in temperature, tray inside is attached to outer tray so when you say tip chips out the inner tray doesn't fall out.

      Its worth the price difference

      • Worth mentioning that the internal tray of the kmart one is attached to the bucket so you don't have the issue you mentioned. Though it does work a little better when pre-heated which is a bit awkward because the unit turns off when you take the tray out.

        • Thats good. Dads cheapie and other cheapies i looked at just had the tray sitting on the bottom.

If you're the kinda clueless person who wants to compare a high end item vs a cheap item then please go ahead buy the cheap one. It's like comparing Samsung TV with a TCL TV. Why does anyone buy a Samsung?

We've had a kmart one for years. 1) Our Kmart air fryer is dangerous as the bottom of the basket some times detaches from the handle and drops on the floor potentially burning yourself. 2) My wife recently tried a Philips at a friend's place and she was amazed how full you can have the basket and dont have to mix the contents around to evenly cook them. We've been waiting for a good discount to appear on this one so we could replace the Kmart one. Having said that though, the Kmart one is amazing for the price. We were about to replace it with another Kmart one until the wife tried a Philips.

      • Thanks for the info, if my kmart one starts detaching like that I'll probably look to replace it at that point.

  • Good price op.

  • Brilliant, thank you. I've been waiting months for a good price on this one.

  • Damn you OzBargain. There's another $270.00 I wasn't going to spend today.

    Thanks OP. Bought.

  • Thanks Op. Think it’s time to retire our smaller 5+ years old Philips viva air-fryer.

  • +1

We have this airfryer (and paid a lot more!) and can highly recommend it. Superb value at this price.

    • Any chance I could get you to measure the height of the unit? The website measurements and Amazon both have different dimensions listed :(

  • Thanks, I can't imagine that $204 deal is coming back anytime soon, so bit the bullet with this one.

Price matched with JB and used a $250 GC from Shopback to get it down to $263.10, already on my way to pick it up.

  • Can you put foil or baking paper so you don't have to clean it all the time?

    • +2

Want to know this as well.
Airfryer is great, but cleaning it is painful.
At least 4 parts need to be cleaned separately :(

      • People and all reviews say this is easy to clean but I beg to differ. It is not that hard to clean if you‘re OK with leaving oil marks or tiny food particles sticking on the pan or oil collector.

The mesh is easy to clean, I agree but the inner basket isn‘t as the surface of its sides are not entirely flat and is designed ribbed. Oil splatter to the grooves and there’s two screw knobs that keeps the handle in place. Those areas are awkward to clean.

The oil collector is IMPOSSIBLE to fully clean because you‘re not supposed to scrub it. Even if I scrub it a little, the oil marks stay there. I tried soaking it for a day or even steaming it, not helping at all. I will going to try to use a degreaser and see if I can get rid of the oil marks but as it is used for cooking food, I‘m not sure if it’s totally safe to use on it.

Now don‘t let me get started on the need to turn the air fyer upside down to clean the heating elements on the top. I’ve cut my fingers once cleaning it as there is a lot of sharp metal edges around it. If you use a brush with detergent, it is a nightmare to dry as the space is very limited to place your hand and dish cloth without cutting your fingers or getting the cloth/paper towel stuck. To anyone wondering why I need to go to extreme length to clean the heating element, it is neccesary to minimise smoke when using it if the heating element has oil or burnt food particles on it.

WIth an oven, I could just wipe it when done. With this air fryer, it‘s not that easy. It might be just because I like my kitchen appliences spotless.

    • Tried a few times using foil and baking paper with this air fryer myself. As the concept for air fryers is just circulating hot air within a small space to make the food crispy quickly (actually it‘s kinda like cooking food dry in a mini air-forced oven), if you use a foil or baking paper, it will block the hot air circulation to the bottom. As a result, it takes much longer to cook the food through which defeats one of the purposes of using an air fryer.

I also noticed that using foil or baking paper, it will get burnt because of the small space of the air fryer and the heating element being at the top. Once this happens, the food will also get small burnt spots all over which I have to pick out.

  • Perfect timing.

Our Philips air fryer died last week after about 7 years of abuse.

  • NVM - Cashback was expired I misread it

  • +1

I have the HD9651 model and can't fault it.

Almost tempted to buy this and gift it to my brother/sis-in-law because these things are just so damn good and convenient.

  • +1

It is showing at $393 for me

  • +1

    Price back to 393

  • Ive owned this and a digital mistral one, 0 difference other than price.. both heat up food exactly the same

  • +1

    Just missed it. $393 again.

  • Showing $393 for me now, expired already? :'(

  • My favourite air fryer. I use daily. Awesome buy

  • +2

We like ours, but unless I'm missing something the presets are a bit weak - all they do are allocate different food groups a particular temp, and some of them are the same.

That said, we are happy with it. You can dishwasher the whole thing (versus say, Instant's version where you can't dishwasher the main basket).

The reason I went with it versus others is because the Twin Turbostar thingy provides more heating at the bottom of your food (assuming no liner of course) for more even cooking. At least that's what I found from watching every YouTube review possible.

It also heats up straight away ie no preheat time needed.

We have an older Philips model and it’s still going strong after 7 years of almost daily use.

We had a friend bring over their cheapie air fryer to use so that we could batch cook more food at the same time for a party and my Phillips always cooked the same food faster and more evenly with fewer or no turning the food involved needed.

In fact whatever you see as the recommended temperature and times on the cooking instructions, we need to reduce by 5-10 degrees or reduce by 30-40% off the cooking time at the recommended temperature so that we don’t overcook it because it’s so efficient.

It’s also very cool on the outside. Can be safely touched all around while the inside is 200degrees. I imagine this is a safety minimum for all appliances so probably no different.

Still waiting for it to die so I can upgrade but it’s soon going to be the longest running kitchen appliance I have that’s also the most frequently used.
