Bambu Lab P1P CoreXY 3D Printer $919.00 (Was $1069.00) + Delivery @ Bambu Lab

400

After 1 year on the market Bambu Lab finally graced us with a sale on their P1P 3D printer. Unfortunately no sale on X1C or AMS.

I grabbed 4 more P1P for my print farm.

Delivery for me was $35 for each printer.

Bambu lab printers are the best.

      • Does this auto level itself? I’m considering getting one but auto bed levelling is a must for me after years with a creality and warped bed.

        • +3

This is a set and forget printer. I am printing benchies after 20 mins unboxing and setting up the machine.

Auto bed leveling is a feature the printer has

          • @RADICALIST: Do you mind sharing your experience of the reliability and maintainability of them? Something will eventually wear out and once it does I'd like to know if it's easy enough to work on.

            • +3

@poweredbysugar: I've only had my Bambu Lab printers 1x X1C and 3 P1Ps, for 3 months and they have been trouble free.

Haven't had to service them yet but bambu lab offers 90% of parts and they are quite straight forward. Many videos on YouTube on how to service these printers

              • @RADICALIST: Thanks for the reply, I'm happy you had a good experience with them so far!
Perhaps a Bambu too will be my next printer! :)

Just ordered! Been waiting for ages for it to go on sale! Thanks OP!

    4 more P1P

I was always curious what people are farming with these print farms.
All these printed parts has to go somewhere although I haven't seen any of them in real life. :)

Nice printer though - it's got my attention after Prusa MK4 release.
To be fair was going to get Prusa but now I am not sure.

Was reading about BambuLab printers last week and the only thing which still confuses me is how many different plates they offer.

    • +1

probably merchant sellers from various patreons, cant imaging it would be that lucrative but who knows

    • +1

They have a handy guide on their website. They come with the cold/engineering plate and that covers everything already.
The cold plate and engineering plate are the same thing, just different sides of the plate.

$939 including shipping on Amazon Prime

    • Good find but I think they have reduced the coupon discount from $360 to $330. Might still be better with vouchers and cashback.

      • I don't know Amazon can accept cashback, do you know how much percentage cashback of P1P?

        • Shopback and cashrewards are both 0% afaik.

      • They have reduced the coupon now.

      • @Ruke The comment right above yours might explain it…

  • I'm considering pre-ordering the K1 max as it looks very promising, how does this one compare? (I know the volume is a bit smaller).
I'd like to be able to do enclosed volume prints of ABS or Nylon if possible for weather resistant and structural materials.
For a change I would like a printer that doesn't require much DIY, my patience for my other two printers is about exhausted, although maybe with a nicely working printer I'll get around to printing the parts I need to improve/fix them.

    • +3

Nylon, ABS can be printed on the P1P though you will need to enclose the space if you want to do anything of size. The Bambu Lab X1 Carbon is more suited for those since it already comes enclosed and the heatbed can reach 110C vs 100C on the P1P which can make the difference between success and warped print if you're printing something large.

K1 Max is new so can't comment, but the K1 generally doesn't compare well to P1P. The Creality app for it is a mess and last I checked was filled with ads, though you don't need it for printing.

If you want a tool that's plug and play then I'd recommend the Bambu Lab P1P or X1C. X1C in particular if you want to print the high temp. materials and it's in your budget.

    • K1 Max is very different, it's larger. The K1 Might be a closer comparison. Imo the P1P would probably be more set and forget than the Max (which isn't even out yet?)

      • +2

I'm kind of seduced by the idea of the K1 max, however the P1P:
        * 50% cheaper right now due to sale
        * Build volume between that of K1 and K1 max (big "enough" for most jobs)
        * Now has the camera included

Most importantly though, Creality has a bad rep, and honestly after 7 years of messing around with various printers… with my latest purchase i just want it to work, I may or may not fix the printers I have, but I just one that works so I can create, without spending time or stress on the ability to print.

I think the P1P has won it, looks like I can add a fan and enclosure later for $150-200 should I want/need ABS but PETG or TPU should be enough for most.

The more I read about Creality, even the K1, the worse it sounds…
Best case it "works", but high chance of issues too

    • Simply comparing them is that Bambu printers are DJI drone and K1 printers are copycat of DJI drones. K1 max has only a benefit of bigger build space but I wouldn't buy K1 or K1 max. If you need a printer with enclosure, get X1c or get p1p and print enclosure yourself. (You can get print file from bambu lab website).

There are bunch of youtube videos about K1 printers but 99% of them are sponsored paid videos. But you can judge yourself with watching this.

  • I really wonder how much you'd learn about 3D printing troubleshooting etc. if this were your first printer.

    • +3

      ignorance is bliss..

    • +10

Some people also don't want to learn about it, and treat this like a tool.

      • +3

Yep, I've had my share of ender's and even Prusa's and the Bambu Lab just works, which is what I need for my business.

        • -1

          Yep, I can understand that!

Not saying buying a Bambu is a bad thing at all.

    • -1

It's certainly been a learning curve using my Ender 3 clone. As a bit of a tinkerer, I don't mind, but I can certainly see the value in a set and forget printer like this. Especially with an added enclosure for ASA/ABS printing.

    • +1

I dont want to learn how to print. My Ender 3 v2 has been great when it works, and an unfun chore whent it doesn't. Spent too much time diagnosing why for the first 4 prints it works, but the last 4 it makes spaghetti (for the same print file).

    • I'm sure we'll learn the things we need to learn. Not a drama.

  • Lovely printer

  • +6

Lol, i just ordered this for $1069 on Sunday night. Actually thought to myself "i bet there is a sale after i purchase this", but didnt actually believe it.
Havnt actually received it as of yet (i dont think it has been sent out), so will contact them to request a similar price reduction (fingers cross, no issues).

  • be careful with the included textured print plate, I barely printed anything with the included white pla and it already is peeling really bad on both sides.

Contacted support but that might take some time as they have a note saying there are large delays on customer support queries, it is happening to a decent amount of people.

    • Have you been using glue-stick with it ?
I read the "cool plate" must be used with glue otherwise its easily damaged - Im not sure about the other plates.

Im also sure I saw a banner saying the P1P now comes with Camera and Light - but now I cant find that… has anyone received their P1P in the past week from Australian warehouse and can confirm ?

      • +1

Go to the second image on the P1P page

      • +3

I am using the glue stick with the textured plate yes, they are now sending me a replacement via auspost.

I got my one 2.5 weeks ago and received camera and light pre-installed.

        • Thanks, I am about to order some accessories, like the aux part cooling fan and control board cooling fan.

I prefer my printers enclosed (to reduce noise/fumes/dust) - but looks like its not so simple with the P1P:
          https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/p1/manual/precautions-for-P1P-e…
          - control board fan
          - heavy duty toolhead cable
          - cable chain
          - longer 550mm PTFE
          - using the cool plate and low bed temps to prevent hot-end heat-creep

          • @systmworks: oh wow, I was going to do the enclosure eventually to print some nylon parts but that looks like quite a project.

  • Any suggestions on accesories or upgrades? I only print PETG or PLA

Can this be modified to be reasonably quiet?

  • +3

Did I need it? No. Did I buy it? Yes. Sigh, yep me on OzBargain in a nutshell. Still my Anycubic Kobra is giving me the absolute shits, so why not.

    • Huh, already received my tracking number. Not bad Bambu Labs, not bad.

  • Worth getting the spare parts kit as well, given it's also discounted? https://au.store.bambulab.com/products/p1p-spare-parts-bundl…

  • +7

Just a heads up OP, the P1P price is the new reduced price moving forward.
    https://blog.bambulab.com/bambu-lab-anniversary/

  • Are they really sending out gifts to everyone who purchased a printer before 26/6/2023 ?

Means buyers on this bargain miss out by a day (but got new lower price).

    • I bought 4 Bambu's a few months ago and received no discounts :(

      • +2

You will, they're staggering the gifts/discounts depending on purchase date

    • Means buyers on this bargain miss out by a day

      Coincidence? I don't think so…
      :)

      • +1

Of course not. But I'd MUCH rather have the new reduced price than some discounts or gifts.

  • +2

Mine got delivered today. Took about 20 minutes from unbox to self calibrating. Then printed a benchy in about 18 minutes. Came out sweet. Where has this thing been all my life?

    • The future ;-D

      Mike arrived today also.
What colour filament was in the box?
I was expecting white - but got green (my least favourite colour :/ )

      • +1

Yeah I got green too, but I also bought some other ones as well.

I have printed 4 things so far and all have just worked, no tweaking, no playing, just worked. Including just loading some PETG and again just worked.

Also not going to lie, I was losing my crap laughing at the printer printing a Benchy at full speed. Outside line, outside line, FULL PSYCHO. Coming from a Kobra where at max i was printing 50mm/s to the P1Ps 500mm/s is crazy.

  • This or AnkerMake M5?

  • +6

I pulled the trigger on the P1S combo.
Without the AMS is only about $100 more with the enclosure and cooling upgrades.

    https://au.store.bambulab.com/products/p1s

    • +2

      That is the better deal.

    • did the same too, been printing for years with Anycubic printers and it really gets triring with all the maintenance and problems fixing. hopefully with this one, it'll be a smooth ride

    • +2

ahh, has pricing changed? P1S with AMS combo, $1459, P1P with AMS $1454? seems like an easy choice to get the P1S given that the P1P to P1S upgrade kit is $230?

      • +1

Yeah the P1S gets a $145 discount on the AMS combo compared to buying the AMS by itself.
