Saw this ad on my Facebook feed. Seems a good deal for a 24/7 gym membership.
No joining fee and no fee for the access tag.
They charge per week, so works out to $34.62 per month. It's an 18 month contract.
I signed up today to my local branch at Brandon Park. It's a decent size and has everything I need. Was fairly quiet during the day when I went to pickup my tag and do a quick workout.
Oh that's good to know that they kept the price the same. I was expecting it to rise to the normal rate once the contract was over.
What does home gym only mean? Like you can only go to your closest branch not other ones?
Yeah, you can only go to the one gym. I don't think it needs to be the closest. You can choose whichever you like, I assume.
Usually it's where ever you sign up. But basically you pick 1 location and that's it, it's doesn't have to be the closest one to your residential address
Does Zap allow you put this lower fee membership on HOLD for the duration if there is any future Govt mandated lockdown period .. or do they just not charge you theweekly fee for such period?
I’m a member and they do allow membership holds but it comes with a fee $5? If I remember correctly. Not sure about government mandated as I joined after lockdowns, but will they have to hold if it’s mandated?
afaik, it's not legal for gyms to continue to charge membership if there are government mandated lockdowns.
Can i change it to a different gym if i move ?

Try not to signup immediately. I did that 1 year ago with this deal, but a mate, who didn’t join, received text messages offering up to 4 weeks free on top of this deal.

18 months? They're gunna lock so many people in that will go for 2-3weeks 🤣

Never been in a gym before. If you sign up to something like this, do you get some basic training on what equipment to use, how to use it properly?
Think they provide a 'qualified' fitness coach which you need to privately contract with
If you tell them you've never been to a gym before, they'll probably show you how to use the equipment. But to get a training program you might need some PT sessions. They never told me how to use the equipment or offered me a program, but I did say I was a previous gym member (elsewhere).
I mostly used to watch Youtube videos for how to do different exercises.
Some gyms also offer a free trial (like Zap) and that might be better than committing to a long term contract if you are not sure whether you will like it.
IMO, gyms are overrated.. just go for a jog, and do some sit ups and push ups. You'll look good and probably healthier than those gym junkies that looks like Hulk.
I used to go 3 Jetts clubs which ever was nearest to my daily job but 1 day they just moved 2 of them to Zap fitness and I was literally swiping my card outside the gyms thinking may be my payment did not go through but then I realised after looking at the logo inside the gym that Jetts is closed & moved to Zap & offering 7.99/ month
Discount has expired. now back to the regular rate at least at y local gym

I took advantage of the previous deal in 2020 which was supposed to be for 12 months only and I'm still paying the same amount.
