  • What does the car check feature on the site say, what does your manual say about oil for a 09 Mazda 6?

Is it better than this one?

What if you have a Ford SUV?

        Do you mix the two?

        • +1

You mix both Ford + SUV = Ford SUV. (not intended as professional advice)

            @dcep:

You mix both Ford + SUV = Ford SUV

Is that similar to this ?

      thank you a great find!

  • Not sure why SCA doesn't match this oil against my vehicle, yet it matches the another C3 oil to it. My car is meant to use C3 oil.

    • I had the same problem in store, the assistant seemed to know what he was talking about when he explained that not all match due to additives that are in some oils that are deemed to be incompatible with some cars.
At the same time we looked at the Mobil part synthetic 5w30 that was not compatible yet the exact same bottle of Mobil (10w40) was compatible - go figure that one !

      • yeah not sure… my vehicle's requirements are simply 'ACEA C3'.. to which this particular oil complies.

        ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cheaper to buy from their eBay store and C&C (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223950747125)
    $56.99 - 8% ($4.56) using code "SEOFYPA" = $52.43

    • nah, i want mine delivered. i enjoy hearing my bell ring and getting something at the door. it's like christmas without it being christmas.

  • how often do you guys change your oil?
    1 year 15k?
    6 months 7.5k?
    3 months 5k?

    • As soon as it leaks all over the driveway

      • lol, that doesn't need an oil change, that need a vehicle change. lol.

    • 1 year or 10,000km. Whichever is the earlier. Corolla 2009 and cr-v 2018.

      • i got a new suv last year and just got it serviced as recommended: 1 year or 15k

for some reason i feel like i should drain the oil and refill it after 6 months in between services. or should i just wait for them to do it every 15k?

        • I’m no mechanic, but I guess it depends on a few factors. (1) Type of driving -frequent short trips, dusty conditions, and towing are supposedly considered harsh conditions and usually have a more frequent maintenance schedule. (2) type of oil - full synth supposedly lasts longer than semi-synth. Some oils are supposedly ‘long life’ and say they can go for extended intervals (unsure if this is real or BS) (3) mileage - if you do, say, 9k per year, non-harsh conditions then I’d say the annual is fine.

What kind of suv / engine?

    • diesel Pajero Sport. Mitsubishi says 15k/12 months. I do mine at 10k

  • Can anyone tell me how much I really need to worry about the other qualifications on the oil if I know my car takes 5w-30? This one doesn't "match" my car on the websites but as usual more expensive ones do :P it's a Skoda with a 1.4tsi if anyone cares!
