Sorry if this has been confirmed elsewhere (I've looked and can't find it), but I am wondering what happens with the voucher? I've called two stores and both advised that you must repay it if you cancel the plan, and it's in both the Telstra and JB's CIS/T&Cs:
You’ll need to repay Telstra for any vouchers you received when you purchased your plan. The Voucher Repayment Fee (if applicable) is pro-rated, equal to the total amount of the base voucher divided by 24 and multiplied by months (or part months) remaining in your plan term.
If you received a JB Hi-Fi Voucher when you purchased your Mobile Service and you cancel that Mobile Service within any applicable Voucher Term, you must pay us the outstanding amounts for the JB Hi-Fi Voucher you received for the cancelled Mobile Service (the Voucher Repayment Fee).

The mobile voucher amount is $800 on contract. The extra $600 is being paid by JB hifi as a bonus

$1656 - $1400 ($99 plan with ETC $756 on contract)
Paid $10 bday voucher and $250 discounted coles mastercard.
$99 first month refunded without any hassle.
Got final invoice for $766 termination invoice.
Total cost approx $970. Planning to get TRS and pay the termination fee with 3 x discounted coles mastercards which will bring cost down to $910 -$160 TRS
