How is this relevant to OP post?

Bad deal. This EOFY has been terrible. I should've bought the Omem 17 with a 4090, even if it's too big. No bargains regarding laptops/PCs at all lately.

    • +2

yeah was an awesome deal. with all the cashbacks costed $2883. am really happy with it.

    • +2

      Yeah i regret i didn't buy that

    • +1

Same. Hopefully we see a return soon

  • How does a 6800H compare to say buying an m1 max macbook pro?

Just want raw power, 3070Ti is a real bonus in a laptop

    • Refer to Passmark

      https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-Ryzen-7-6800H-vs-Ap…

The 6800H has a better multi-core score. The M1 Max has a better single core score.

It also depends on what operating system you want to use. If you need Windows or Linux the 6800H will be a better option. If you are happy with the applications on the Mac the M1 will be a better option.

      • +1

albeit doubt the gpu cores on the M1s could do anything near what a 3070 could? half the price too

    • +2

      what is then?

  • +1

Gotta love ozb community would've almost got it if I didn't know this isn't a good deal.
    .
Looking to replace my surface book from 2017 with a decent primary laptop that I can game on. Already have a screen. Don't see PC being worth it cause can't move em.

  • I considered and had opportunity to buy the intel version, but there was some uncertainty over if the omen has the same or similar severe screen wobble that the victus is known for. Checked a victus out in store once and it was just an obscene amount of wobble. Didn't want to take the chance.

  • +2

So on the surface the Intel version see. S like a good deal. But im seeing alot of people say it's not…. Would someone mind explaining why to me? As the 3070ti seems to perform as well as the 4070 especially with its TDP.

Genuine question as I was looking at getting the Intel version for the same price

  • The deal has long since expired as the price is now up to $3,299.
