Two of last three. Plus salary credit bank statement

  • Does anyone know what is classified as 'everyday purchases'. I would like to book an airbnb with this card - would that count?

    • yes i believe so. other forms of expenses are like Government agencies, and perhaps Qantas flights etc

  • Mine was conditionally approved, only need to submit 2 payslips. Then got the txt message about 2 days later that my application is being reviewed by a manager and will call when needed. Then approved on that day. Card arrived in 3 days. Much faster than Westpac. They are still reviewing my application and no progress since I applied on same day as NAB.

  • Mine was conditionally approved, only need submit NOA, I also got Westpac Altitude Qantas Platinum approved after few days.

  • Does anyone know how long does it take for the Bonus points to arrive after meeting the spend criteria? The website says 3 months but wondering if it has come sooner for anyone.

  • The contract doesn't mention anything about bonus points, is it ok ?

    • Standard paper. You just make sure to keep screenshot of the promo

  • Just applied and now waiting for approval. Then I remember there wasn’t any question about Qantas FF number during application process. Do we have to call up after activate the card. I think in the past, I submitted the QFF number in the application form.

    • Usually the success/acceptance email has the place for your FF number.

      • Just got the approval email and nowhere to tell me to submit my qff. What an annoying. Guess i have to call up.

        • It should have been one of the first pages in the initial application forms. give them a call to add it

          • @OzBerghainer: Yeah can also confirm it's there, have churned this one several times and never missed it.

  • My points haven't arrived after almost 2 months… who do I kick and scream to?

    • From their website: Points will be credited to your points balance within 3 months of meeting the spend criteria.

Very unusual - Im churning this card currently and in the past, it would hit the statement immediately after elligible spend.

      • Just NAB getting shabbier and shabbier.

        • So my update is

I hit spenidng within the first 2 weeks, but no bonus points shown in the first statement (2 weeks)

I received by 1 month statement and i have received the bonus points in my qantas account. Overall, experience was good.

          • @eastmeetswests: Yeah NAB is one of the better/least-worse ones (eg go read the comments on the suncorp post lol), churned through it myself multiple times as well gotten relatives to sign up during bill quarters where we hit the min spend within the first 2 weeks and the points have always arrived by the first month's statement. It's just a pity about the the new 18 months exclusion period and the stop to fee refunds.

            • @vawiyoci: Ive always had a good experience woth nab, shame theyve stopped the annual fee pro rata refund too.

Im also in the same boat in the suncorp card… waiting lol

Bad news - I am trying to cancel card after getting QFF points with pro-rata reimbursement of annual fees. This is what they have advised:

In regard to annual fee pro-rata refunds, effective 30th November 2022, we’ve made the following changes across all consumer credit cards (except StraightUp Card):

Annual fees will no longer be automatically refunded where a credit card account is closed within 12 months from first use. First use of card is when the first-year annual fee charge is triggered.
After the 12 months since the first annual fee charge the pro-rata refund rule will be applied.

Got approved very quick and got my card in 2 days

    • Same here. They didn't even ask for payslip or anything else. This is my first time getting a CC from NAB and I think it's the quickest so far.

  • Does government payment like service nsw count? What about NRMA?

    • +1

In my experience, no to service nsw. I used to have to bypass this using beemit but that is not an option.

You could use snip if u were happy to pay a fee.

Nrma for insurance i havent had any issues with that and getting bonus points though.

Called them and spoke to the loyalty program rep. Service NSW is fine and counts towards everyday purchase.

just fyi it's 18 months since you last got your bonus points (not when you closed your card) for below:

This bonus points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Qantas Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Qantas Rewards credit card in the 18 months prior to the opening of a NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card or a NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card (increased from 12 months prior to the opening for accounts opened before 30 November 2022).

I called and confirmed with their rewards team

    • I guess that's good in the sense that they don't want to penalise customers who held onto their cards beyond getting the bonus points. Gives churners a reason to stick around and use the card for the balance of the year at least… another reason why they wouldn't pro-rata the annual fee refund anymore.

  • This is very vague and different to what other banks usually say….

"This bonus points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Qantas Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Qantas Rewards credit card in the 18 months prior to the opening of a NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card or a NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card (increased from 12 months prior to the opening for accounts opened before 30 November 2022)."

    Issues:

    • "…not available to existing customers…" - So if you're a new customer to NAB, then you can't be an existing customer by definition. You may have been a previous customer, but that's not what it says, only not applicable to existing customers.
    • "who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Qantas Rewards Bonus Points" - So it's not based on when you held the card, it's based on when you received the bonus points (e.g. up to 3 months after qualification). If you received the bonus points and then closed the account 6 months later, technically you would be eligible 12 months after the card was closed. Who knows what they actually mean by that statement.
  • I've just received my 1st statement from NAB. Deducted the $150AF, I've spent $1538, but i has only received 836 points.

Base on the earning rate of 1 Qantas Point per $1.5, i must have spent only $1254 (836*1.5). So there was an amount of $284 that I have spent didn't qualify for the QF points.

Looking at all my transaction, i found only a PayPal transaction to paid for WoW giftcard matched closely that amount - the rest of other transactions to restaurants, health insurance, ebay and groceries. This is really weird because PayPal or WoW are definitely should earn points here - not government entities or gambling etc.

    • Everyday purchases exclude transactions NAB decides are wholly or partly for gambling or gaming purchases.

Not sure if it was before or after your comment, but the description has updated slightly

  • Quick question if eligibility is 12 months for cards opened prior to 30nov 2022? I closed mine in August of last yr and wondering if i can reapply

    • 18 months

  • Hi there
I'm about to apply for thi card ,Does anyone know if I'll be eligible to receive the 20k bonus points ? I did register prior to 31st July and got the confirmation email as well.

I would like to share a very painful experience with NAB recently, which ends up costing me a fortune compared to whatever benefit they can provide.

NAB simply miscalculated a transfer on my account, and litterally stole 2000$ from my credit account.

I hereby make public my bank statements to warn all the community about such mistakes, which I still couldn't claim back. Please check your statements very carefully.

    • Oh man, how can that be? What did they say?

  • +1

Received my 70000 points + 20000 first time qantas credit card bonus this morning, thanks op 🤪🤪

    • When did you meet the spend criteria? Wondering how long the wait will be.

      • 4 Aug and the monthly credit card statement date is the 16th.

        • Cheers!

          • @excusemesir: Was surprisingly fast

            • @bird380: Thank you for sharing. I was wondering what the wait time is as I've just met the spend criteria.
Have you cancelled it yet? if so, how did you go with the pro-rata reimbursement of annual fee?

              • @LazyLaz: around 2 weeks for the points to get credited to my account.
                Probably will keep this card.

  • Did they just remove Travel Insurance from this card from 1st Nov? So if I have a trip booked after that date I am not covered?

  • I've met the minimum spending 6 weeks ago, still waiting for the bonus points to land in my Qantas account.
Can someone tell me if spending on Medibank private health cover and Car insurance considered everyday purchases? started to get worried, hope it's not ruin my chance to get the 70k points!

    • same here. bonus point did not land with the 1st month normal points

    • I'm at 3 weeks and waiting. Have you tried reaching out to NAB?

      • Not yet I got the online auto message that the bonus points may take 3 months… But a lot of people got it straight away.

        • Very strange, what did your spend consist of?

Ive always got it after 1 month of hitting points.

          • @eastmeetswests: Just normal super markets and dining, plus car insurance and Medibank private bill. That's why I got worried.
In the terms and conditions they say I can't get points 'paying bills at the counter' as it'd be considered as Cash in advance, so I assume paying insurance bills online is considered everyday spending… Not sure any more. Hope I'll get my bonus points soon….

            • @Ponyoponyo: You can call the rewards team to check.

If you paid anything via bpay, it may not have counted though

    • FYI I finally got the bonus points! Listed on my 3rd month statement, so just before their 3 months mark promised. I didn't end up having to contact them at all. Very happy :)

  • So I have the NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card and just received my 90K points, can I apply for this and get bonus points or not?

    • +1

This bonus points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Qantas Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Qantas Rewards credit card in the 18 months prior to the opening of a NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card or a NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card (increased from 12 months prior to the opening for accounts opened before 30 November 2022).

  • Received my 70k bonus points this week. Met the spending criteria within the second month and the bonus points were included on the second statement.

  • I have made a colossal f**k up. Didn't realise they increased the date to 18 months. What are the chances they go easy on me if I make a phone call because it's only been 12 months and I've already met spend criteria zzz.

    • Unfortunately probabaly nothing they can do. The ts and cs are pretty clear :/
