Small Batch Wild Turkey Rare Breed is a barrel proof whiskey, meaning no water is added during the bottling process. It is a marriage of Wild Turkey 6, 8 and 12 year old Bourbons aged in white oak barrels with a #4 alligator char. Rich oak notes on the nose give way to caramel, chocolate with hints of floral and fruit notes. Warm butterscotch and vanilla on the palette and a finish of fruit, spices and lingering caramel sweetness.

ABV 58.40%

$104.95 at Dan's which is about the regular price. Not sure why Amazon have dropped it this low.

clearly that cant be right :/

    • Maybe you'll get 6x 700ml bottles (or one giant one).

      • +1

guess i'll find out tomorrow ;)

considering the top review i'll be hopeful for one bottle :)
"It’s a bait and switch. Product and price listed are false"

        • I saw that; from Sep 2022.
Possibly a dodgy third party seller at the time?

          • @Feelsbad: possibly
this Amazon AU seller so im not worried.
            Its either
            - 1 bottle turns up, good deal
            - multiple bottles turn up, party
            - something else turns up, refund ;)

            • @SBOB: Does amazon let you keep wrong orders of alcohol like they do with food or do they make you send it back?

            • +3

              @SBOB:

              • wild card option: a wild man dressed as a turkey turns up at your house

    • +1

The item is now up dated to 700ml would love to know if 6 bottles turned up!

      • If anyone needs screenshots let me know

Or turn you into a wild turkey.

I have some “lived experience” lol.

    • I had to water it down a bit with a few drops of water or an ice cube.

That is one advantage - ice with 40% ABV whisky is just watery, with the higher ABV whiskies, you still get the depth of flavour.

  • Perfect with Pepsi Max?

      what am I, rich?
I only mix my $100 bottles of bourbon with Aldi cola

      • C'mon dude. Splurge a wee bit more every now and then. You know ya deserve it.

BTW this comes in 4.2 litres? 4200ml is 4.2L, right? I'd be in this for sure.

      • +3

Aldi Cola?? I was thinking more AC cola from Kmart.

        • They don't stock it any more, you would have to buy from a private collector who is cellaring it and at those prices you might as well go all out and buy home brand from IGA.

  • Nooooo my fav drink 😞

  • Great find!

  • seems to be price matching some BWS on clearance

  • Stupid price, I would have bought a case

    • +1

      Same, it's my fav drink

      • Unbeatable value.
I still have an opened bottle of the batch "99" from the early 2000s Ive been saving, I bought a case about 10 years ago.

        • They say bourbon does not age in the bottle like wine.

          • @3DL3: That's 100% correct .
20+ years ago at the end of what is colloquially know as the "bourbon glut" the blend of whiskey that made up Rare Breed consisted of some of the best barrels that Wild Turkey had and was much older whiskey, the taste profile of the OG stuff is completely different to the new stuff and is highly desirable.

    Omg missed it. Excellent price

  • Bah.. man gotta be fast sometimes.

  • Think they’ll honour back orders?

    • I ordered within minutes there was a delivery time & straight after it has ‘Date not yet available’ backorder?

  • +1

    wah missed out

    😭 my fav

  • Damn!

  • I prefer Everclear 95% mixed with a dash of dry ginger ale. Also good for disinfectant, or stove fuel.

    Just kidding.

    • Where do you get Everclear?

      • America

        • I know that. Any stores or importers you know that stock it

          • +1

@zemphism: Only at a 1000% markup on US prices.

You can get Polmos Spirytus, about $80 for 500ml.

It’s now “Wild Türkiye” isn’t it?

  • Received one 700ml bottle today. Amazon customer service chat told me to read the description more carefully next time.

    • did you share screenshots?

      • Yeah the description actually said "unit count 4200 milliliter".

      • I couldn't figure out how to send a screenshot. The chat person agreed that the title says 4.2 L, but said that the description also mentioned 700 ml somewhere. They even said that the title and description were updated before I complained so there was nothing that I could do.
Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience as Amazon used to be really good when it came to product received different from the ad.

    • Same only one bottle turned up, but I was also fully aware that I was 99.9% likely to receive a single bottle (based on other details in the listing plus listing image) so didn't think hassling Amazon customer service was worth wasting time with.

      Still a decent bargain.

      • +1

Yeah people expecting 4l of top shelf bourbon for $60 and actually complaining about it have no shame. It's a bargain for 1 bottle.
