    • It's because we're all dumping our free stocks

      • Free stock from Ozbargain is peanuts. Don't kid yourself. It is the whole market going down.

        • +1

          I was being facetious :)

  • I accidentally deposit the wrong amount, the first deposit. Will I still get the 10 free shares after desposit 2k?

    • should be

    • +4

      I did this, deposit $50, then $950 then $1000.

Once it reached 2k it notified me of the free shares.

  • +2

I've received and sold my free shares. Is there some kind of delay on when I can exchange my USD to AUD to withdraw it? In my account it says USD $125 but USD withdrawable $0.

    • +6

Usually there is a 2-day settlement period after selling shares.

      • Ah cool I've withdrawn my original $2k so I'll just wait a bit.

  • +2

Im still waiting for my withdrawal funds. I had an email from moomoo that my bank was verified but on my account page in the app it says my funds are frozen??? What does that mean grace2050

    • Same here, have initiated withdrawal around 3.30pm ydya and app still shows funds are frozen. Hopefully will clear today

      • Yeah took about 24hrs from my account being verified until the money got transferred out

Is this why my MULN order from yesterday got cancelled? Stock price changed too much from order to market opening?

    https://investorplace.com/2023/07/muln-stock-mullen-hits-rec…

    • +6

      MULN got ozbargained

    • Yea if you just put in your order and didn't up the price you're willing to pay, the order would have been cancelled as the price went up due to everyone here buying it. Same thing happened to my order, so I went and placed it again but this time I upped the buy price to 2% above the current price and hopefully it'll go through this time.

  • Sold the shares last night, but can't convert the funds to aud and withdraw it. Anyone has the same issue?

    • +3

the trade needs to settle, wait a couple of days
it's the same across all brokers

    • You'll have to wait for the trades to settle, like any share trading.

  • I referred to my wife with a link which said get up to 5 Superstar stocks and up to 15 stocks but she got 12 stocks only after completed trade.
How to get additional 3 share?

    • +1

It's 12 free shares for your wife. You will get 5 additional shares for the referral.

  • Also, my referral invite code for superstar promo says 9 invites left.

    • Yes, you can invite another two people, each will get 12 shares. You will get 5 additional for each successful referral. But maximum 15 free shares, which means you are rewarded for the first three referral, for the fourth invitation, you will not get 5 additional shares.

      • Thanks, makes sense so the number of stocks was for me and that’s how they limit to 3 referrals by putting a cap.

  • This one worked well for me!

  • What's best time of week to sell?

    • +1

New york stock exchange is open during Australian night time. I think it closes around 7am aest. If ur asking about when the stock u bought/have, thats anyones guess haha.

      • +4

when it is up a huge % and about to come down… that's the best time ;)

  • Far out. Still waiting for my deposit to come through from ANZ.
What a freaking joke in this day and age for online transfer of money to take this long to come through.

    • Same still waiting I already called once, how many times do we need to bloody call the bank and wait for like 30 mins.

    • Same boat. Anz is a joke.called them twice yesterday and still havent received the deposit yet

  • Bought stock how to get extra 2 shares?

    • gotta spin the wheel again

    • You have to buy at least one stock to get the 2 bonus.

  • Hi, how long it takes to receive additional 2 shares after 1 trade? I just bought 1 AMC and waiting for 2 shares.
    Thanks

    • How long did it take? I’m having the same issue

  • How long does approval take? I've been waiting for 18 hours so far :(

  • +1

Hard part now is withdrawing the deposit.. they'll probably drag this out for at least 3 days to earn their interest.

    • Got mine back within 24 hours. I’m struggling to withdrawal the free stocks I sold though, not sure what the go is there

      • what do you mean ? what is the struggle exactly? cant withdraw?

        • Pretty much, I saw in another comment once the shares are sold, even though it shows the funds in your ‘wallet’, as ‘available’, you can’t actually transfer them AUD and withdrawal for a couple more business days

So I’ll wait till next week and see how it goes

          • @Explorejupiter: ok, might be just due to settlement timings with shares. keep us updated if possible pls once you can withdraw. I am still waiting for my shares to arrive but put my request in to withdraw my initial deposit.

          • @Explorejupiter: have you manage to convert USD to AUD and withdraw the cash from sold free shares yet?

            • @Omarko: Just tried now and nope, still unable to convert…

              • @Explorejupiter: thanks, so you were able to sell the shares and have the balance sitting in USD now and cant convert to AUD? when did the sale took place? might still be settlement related ?

                • @Omarko: Yeah that’s right. They were officially sold as of the 7th, so it’s only been two business days

                • @Omarko: Update: I’m now able to convert the USD to AUD

So approx 4 business days waiting time, plus more than likely a few more days for the funds to be withdrawn and land in my account.

                  I guess I can’t really complain for a free $200aud

                  • @Explorejupiter: A lot of (crappy) trading platforms treat the currency conversion as a 'trade' and so dictate a second 2-day settlement period for that as well.

                    • @wavesgreen: Yeah pretty much, in this case though once the funds were actually available to convert, the USD was converted to AUD in a matter of minutes which is pretty decent.

Just a lot of waiting in other areas

Got my original deposit back within 24 hours

  • +1

This is great offer, I am going to do this but continue to use them.

    • +1

Yes, I agree. From the date you opened the account to the next half a year, all trade fees will be waived and refunded. I think it is a good deal. If you buy and sell stocks frequently, you can save a lot.

      • :)

        Thanks for sharing :)

    • Please note they may charge the trade fee first, but they will refund the fee before the 15th of next month.

    • Thank you for your service.

      • No worries, mate (handshake)

    • +1

Remember that they are not your shares but they own them so if they go bust, you lose your money

      Thanks ozbargainers

when adding a bank account for withdrawal , it'd be great if it accepted PDFs, etc, and not just images.
Kind of stupid. I managed to get it in PNG format , but now it doesn't add it as an attachment when I select the file.

    • +1

liked that i could just screenshot a page of my doc. without having to download pdf
      (this was deposit)
      try jpeg

      • +1

yeah tried jpg, jpeg, still doesn't work.
piece of shit considering no bank does statements in photo format anyway, and the sample of the statements that they require the entire page of the statement.

also, I tried logging onto moomoo through the web, but you can't withdraw through the website, only the shit app.

        • It didn't ask me for any additional info after I complained to their customer service. I did a payid payment of $2000 from my offset account without knowing I needed to provide a statement afterwards with all my account details. Wasn't at all comfortable sharing my offset acc details since it holds all my savings.

They refunded the $2000 paid from the offset and then I made a payid using other bank, approved and got deposited within 5 mins, no additional information was asked this time.

        • My bank account doesn't issue statements, so I gave them a screenshot showing my name and they rejected it on the grounds that it was 'more than 6 months old' and 3rd party card… neither of which is true.

    • Yea I ended up opening the statement on the computer and taking a photo of it on screen with my phone. Was approved without any issues.

  • Any conditions on the “trade” you have to make?

Minimum? AU market? Any other bs?

    • +3

US market, no min, make sure you have excess USD to cover some amount of fee they don't disclose when making the trade. Maybe aim for +2 USD above share price, not sure if it's fixed or percentage. Fee will be refund on the 15th of the following month the trade was made for up to 180 days.

      • You are the spokesman, mate. Thanks for the clear instructions.

    • restriction for AU is something on the ASX200 i think (i just bought 1 Air NewZealand) otherwise it comes up with some message about spending minimum $500.

  • how long does it take for allocated free shares to go from receiving to actually getting them in your account?

    • +1

From my experience, it is overnight.

      • thanks, do I have to wait to receive the shares before I pull out my deposit ?

        • Pull out anytime you want. No issues.

  • +3

    Thanks for sharing OP!

Received $630 for signing up myself and my partner. Haven't withdrawn the funds yet, but it's all looking good so far.

    $275 worth of stocks initially
$240 stocks by signing up my wife
Another $115 for referring my wife

    • how can you get $275 value of shares? I got lot of AMC. Looks like been dominated.

      • 7x GME + 5x AMC goes pretty far. :)

        • so luck. do you draw one by one or wait between?

  • +6

    Wow.. 9 x GMEs and 1 x AMC - total worth of ~USD 217 or ~AUD 314

    • +1

      Lucky you! 🥺

    • +1

      So lucky mate.

    • +1

      Lucky you! Congrats!

    • +1

      I got 8 x GME and 2 x AMC

  • +1

any one got Tesla or Apple??

    • +1

      NooNoo

    • +3

Nop but I got 3x coke out of the 12 shares. Would consider myself incredibly lucky.

  • Can we deposit the funds from a joint account?

    • +1

Yes. I did it from a joint account.

    • +1

You definitely can but I think it unnecessarily adds a layer of uncertainty especially considering you are likely to "refer" the other joint account holder. I have transferred the money into our own accounts respectively to avoid any issues.

  • +3

I did one productive thing today, I closed my ANZ acc

    • +1

      I closed my cba account

    • I will be following suit after this experience.

  • +1

I click draw and it just goes to a page to deposit.

    Worked it out :)

  • +1

How to withdraw money from sold shares? I got USD in my account but it looks like you cannot exchange it for aud. Opening a USD account here is such a hassle

    • +2

You can exchange USD to AUD in currency exchange , scroll to the right of the quick trade icon in accounts tab ( purple icon)

      • Yea I just found that I been screwing around Forex.
Looks like we cannot send it as USD sadly. I'd rather send it to wise and use their currency exchange

  • +3

Finally got everything worked out, but only got 1 GME and 11 AMC for 70USD - 105AUD! Boooo! 😭

    • Looks like they have significantly downgraded the offer, now AMC is like at least 80%+ or probably 90%
