Just because James Hoffmann says so does not make it so .. this is an overpriced unproven espresso machine while I am sure it is excellent but at this price commercially there about 10 different machines that have proven themselves over 30 years and Rocket, laspaziale have been a game changer for home use over a long time ..in terms of longetivity and compared to this ridiculous RRP ..and there is Decent if you want the latest tech ..even that is not this expensive. This brands claim to fame is environment friendly ..except they want the customer to pay for their good hearts similar to save the environment reuse towels and everything else in a hotel but pay us the same rates and thank you for supporting an environment friendly hotel. These will bomb..espresso machines are not exactly cars that can be flaunted so more expensive is not necessarily a good thing when a great cup is mostly the beans the grinder and the barista.. the machine is probably 25% of the equation.

I would disagree with this assessment. I have supplied and serviced La Marzocco machines in cafes since 2009. I replaced the LM's with the Commercial Eagle ones and other variations of the same brand. They have been much more reliable than the LM's. The Nuova Simonelli (same company) machines have been used throughout McDonalds Mcafe for years and are very reliable considering the volume they do. I service these also, so speaking from a place of experience. So they are a proven machine and do last well. The technology in this machine is the same as the commercial machine. The price listed is significantly cheaper than the Rocket R Nine One and nobody uses La Spaziale in Australia - I would know I used to import them. Nobody wants the La Spaziale because they run too hot and only use 53mm portafilters.

You seem to have missed the point OP.. You are selling at a discount..my point was why would anyone buy an e1 ever for home use..much less an oz bargainer :-D. Victoria Arduino has been around forever the advertised machine however is an e1 ..how long has that been around OP ? La Spaziale was a commercial reference..I have no idea about its success or failure in the Australian market so I cannot dispute your claim.. Rocket R nine one is a semi commercial machine with similar heritage as the e1 ..none .. Rocket however as a brand has a LOT of dual boiler models at half the price for home market as do Nuova Simonelli ..models which have existed forever and cost 1/3 of the advertised machine … Like I said .. the machine is only 25% of the equation.. I am sure the e1 is Gods gift to mankind and you are obviously selling it below market price… and thats not the problem here .. I am disputing the need for it or for that matter a Rocket R nine in home use not only because they are new..both are neither for home use nor for commercial use.. IMHO… I may be wrong since I am not a reseller and have zero experience with selling machines but I would certainly recommend doing a LOT of research before buying an eagle 1

I think you’ve missed the point of this website. We’re here to share bargains and not argue whether we believe something is worth it or we feel there is a cheaper alternative. Based on the retail price of this said machine, and the discount, it’s a pretty solid bargain.

Fully agree, I was considering between Rocket R9, Eagle1P when it was $7.1k RRP, Linea Mini, Decent, Londinium.I ended up paying more for the Decent.

  • Having said that .. the machine is being sold at a discount so it is a definitely a deal in dollar terms

About a month or two ago, this machine was priced at $7,150 RRP then, after LaMarzocco increased price of Linea Mini, Eagle One price increased to the current RRP of $8,745, so while this promo is $500 lower than previous RRP, it’s a $2,200 discount on an inflated price. As always with any coffee equipment, check UK and German coffee forums for feedbacks…
