Leone Vanilla Icecream Sticks 6-Pack $2.75 (Half Price) @ Woolworths

320

Are these new? Grabbed a pack today and happy with it as a portion controlled sweet snack to hit the sweet craving without wanting more. Cheaper than the homebrand 4pk or icecream sandwiches.

Strangely from Slovenia 🤔 I was expecting maybe Sierra Leone?

Found 'em today - back @ 1/2 price

        • They must not be selling well at anything more than this price, or its still an introductory marketing offer that is getting us used to them.

  • How's it taste?

Bought the almond version of this today. It's nice… what's not to love about chocolate and ice-cream. Not a lot to go wrong with there. The portions are very small (especially if you're a dessert glutton like myself), but the flavour is good. I wouldn't say it's the best tasting version of this type of ice-cream (the Cadbury versions probably take the cake), as I like it when the ice-cream and chocolate taste a bit creamier/smoother. But it's not icey, and the quality is decent for the price. I would buy again.

These were at this price last week in my local Woolies. Bought 4 X vanilla and 2 X almond topped vanilla boxes. One pack per night and all gone. Delicious

  • Not new - have been continually this price since at least https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/782863 good to hear they are nice

    Made in Slovenia.

Shipping ice cream around the world when we can easily make it here is a big (profanity) you to the environment.

It has 'Made in Slovenia' from imported ingredients - does that mean Slovenia had to import the ingredients to make the ice-cream?

My guess would be the sugar being imported from China.

I was looking for Australian frozen fish the other day. I found one brand which was fish caught in NZ, sent to China to be packaged and then sent to Australia (and probably some sent back to NZ too).

        • Countries should just stick to making food items wholly from their own ingredients.

Youre not wrong :S and surely at a crazy loss :S

    • Indeed. Just as bad as Haagen Dasz and Ben & Jerry's.

I saw this today too and thought this must be the cheapest stick ice cream in the last 10 years.

    • The Woolworths Homebrans stick ice-cream is 1/2 cheaper than the Leone ice-crem per 100ml however its probably worse quality.

There is no mention of the word icecream on Woolies site nor on the photo shown on the site. I suppose it's something made with palm oil, water and a lot of sugar, specially made for them. I'd double check the ingredients before buying.

    • Icecream inspired.

      • A homage to ice-cream

    • Sounds good, better than cow fluids

    • Yeah interesting ingredients.
      no cream.
"Ice confection" 66.7%, milk choc 33.3%.
Recon. skim milk, sugar, cocoa mass, coconut oil, cocoa butter, glucose syrup, whey powder, skmed milk powder, anhydrous milk fat, emulsifiers, stabilisers, flav, vanilla extract. Better than i expected.

  • Originating from Slovenia.

I think this is a different product to the deal. I think the ones in this deal have thicker chocolate and creamier ice cream. More like a mini magnum, than the choc coats that are that white almost soft serve ice cream with a thin compound choc coating - still a legitimate dessert in its own right, but I feel a different category.

    • Mmm the aldi one is defs cheaper per mL and better that its made in AUS.
Definitely different product - aldi ones are more like bulla choc coated , rather than these magnum style ones. So a better treat imo. But would prefer sus made.
