  • Good enough for h264 and h265 playback?

    • If it has real Intel N95 CPU, then it should have UHD 710 iGPU, which has fairly good hw decoding support. The HDMI output should supports up to 4k@60Hz

(based on tech specs, not real experience with this particular device)

ps: I noticed funny info in the description: the 500GB version is actually 256GB M.2 + 256GB SATA and the 1TB version is 500GB M.2 + 500GB SATA. Also - the Win11 Pro is IMHO unlikely to be genuine.

Seems like it supports h265 hev 10bit hw decoding which should be the most recent thing the seven seas are using.

      Might be keen…

      These make great HTPC's.

They have the right hw support for efficient video playback, and they're also extremely power-efficient at idle and light loads for always-on HTPC's.

At high loads the TDP rating is essentially fake but that is fine, the trade off is you get semi-respectable PC performance if/when you need it at more like 20-30W, arguably this is a good thing.

They are respectable computers for light general PC usages (web browsing, office style apps) but arguably you are better off with a more desktop oriented platform with higher peak performance.

They will be decent for retro gaming, but mileage will vary for more resent consoles. Some Switch emulation will be viable if you can tolerate the amount of time you can waste testing these things (Switch isn't necessarily hard for x86 systems to emulate, given PC and console hardware has become unified).

Demanding PC games are largely out of the question, some will work at awfully low res and lowest graphics settings, but still low frame rates.

Lots of older and less-demanding PC games will run fine though.

Generally the N95/N100/N200/N300/N305 are for low power always-on PC's.

Currently there is no great NAS options in this CPU series, we're still waiting for motherboards with better connectivity. They will always be somewhat limited in their NAS applicability though, due to lack of ECC RAM support and limited PCI-e lanes that need to be shared among more than just disks.

      • Nice summary. Thanks.

  • Anyone know what type of plug and where to source one if it's not shipped with an AU plug?

    • Listing lists US/EU/UK as options.

  • Wish Amazon would price match, hate shopping from Ali
