  • Does it work?

  • These seem like a gimmick to me.

  • Good for children to wear when playing video games?

    • If there is nothing wrong with your kids eyes and they dont wear glasses then dont recommend them.

Just them to take breaks and limit how long they play.

In saying that though I've played a crap load of video games at a young age until now (40) and my eyes are still fine.

In addition I work in front of a PC almost all day.

You should focus on good lighting around the room, taking breaks, exercise and healthy eating.

      • Thanks for your advise!!!

  • LOL - gimmick with no scientific proof

  • No science behind blue light filter.

  • Unless it is for a specific application, basically all LED lights on the market have a blue light component in them. This is because they use a blue LED with a yellow phosphor coating to create the white light. To suggest that a pair of reading glasses can block blue light when it is coming from all angles is ridiculous. Don't waste your money.

  • I've purchased blue light filter glasses from Cyxus via Amazon last year and they prevent my eyes from drying out after staring at a screen for hours, whereas usually I'll slowly start squinting after a few hours lmao. No idea if there are other health benefits, but i'll take that benefit unless there are adverse reactions to actually wearing them.

    • Clear glass would do the same, that's just mechanical/air movement.

  • Snake oil.

  • +1

You can achieve the same effect via colour temperature/hue-altering software for free. Try f.lux, it even calibrates your monitor's colour temperature dynamically throughout the day.
