    So tempted.

  • This is a great price. I love my F. Is the EF likely to run dryish?

    • Have had my Lamy 2000 EF for around 10 years ish and haven’t had any issues with it running dry. Granted, I’m using Pilot Iroshizuku which is a wetter running ink.

    • Definitely not.

    • I have used both the EF and the F and I much prefer the EF for normal use. It doesn't run dry at all.

    What does it do?

    • probably writing

      • That’s what I thought. Expensive pen.

    • Shoots lasers and secretly records conversations like a spy pen should.

    • That's not the John wick pencil

      • The price was indicating it is!

    • Puts thought to paper by leaking ink

  • Such an interesting niche, the "pay much more to do simple tasks the hard way".

    • If you write regularly you should try it. It's like typing with a mechanical keyboard, but with ink. Arguable infinity more customisable due to the sheer number of available inks to try.

As much as I like my fountain pens, they are such terrible tools to use if your aim is just to write things (and don't get any joy out of using the foutnain pen).

      • This is the case.
I own a couple of automatic watches and my opinion is similarly fanboi-toxic about that too

        • Names didn't check out.

Ironically, "Waverly" is a type of nib for max smoothness. One of my best writers is a waverley from the fifties. These days only PILOT mass produce WA nibs.

Not toxic because they're all at least 14k gold :p

          • @Fullhalter: I actually have a waverley pen (with their funky looking nib) from… i assume 40s and 50s (its an ebonite eyedropper pen)

  • I would love this but I can't use anything else but a C&C. Won't be able to get the last few drops of ink with a piston filler.

    • if you are able to get a syringe and a thin needle, potentially u could draw up as much ink to the bottom and push it into the hole of the Lamy 2000. I've done it on my Moonman S3 as an eyedropper without much issue. Not done it on my Lamy 2k tho so i cant say if it works

      • I'm using a syringe to fill my converter. I feel filling a piston pen the way you described is more hassle than it's worth.

        • You probably could get a travel inkwell, if filling the ink to the last drop is important.

Or if you like tinkering, disassemble, put the ink in the reservoir, reassemble (and risk losing parts).

That said, 100% agree using a pen with converter/cartridge is easier and more… practical (if that is a word that can be associated with fountain pens)

Section might be too small and slippery for some, comparo. The FPN review linked is a must read.

That said, this is a cult classic modern pen. A safe buy at $200.

    Pelikan man approves.
