Anyone Know How to Setup SMS Alerts for Amazon Orders?

Should be simple I thought…

Couldn't find the option on my Amazon account, spoke to Amazon chat and they had NFI either.

So basically if I place and order I do get email updates but not SMS updates. It's normally not a big deal but often I am in town near the parcel pickup point and an order arrives but I don't find out about it until I get home because I don't have (and don't want) email setup on my phone. Tried some googling and that didn't help either.

Am I fighting a lost cause or can someone help a brother out?

Thanks

    • Yeah couldn't find that option anywhere.

  • You can download the AusPost app which will notify you when an item is in the parcel locker for you. Use it quite often.

    • Thanks for the suggestion but sometimes they are sent via other carriers. Got one today from Aramex. And would the AP app tell me the access code to the parcel locker?

      • Yes it will give you both access code as well as a QR code you can scan without touching the machine to open the locker door.

The Amazon app also tells you when a package is out for delivery, just enable notifications.

  • I randomly get Aus Post messages for some Amazon orders. I always get Amazon app notifications and they only very rarely arrive after delivery, usually it's instant. Email notifications on my phone too. And my video doorbell notifies me. I'm pretty thoroughly notified.

  • I get notifications about my Amazon purchases being out for delivery/delivered/etc on my Android phone from (I think) the Amazon app. I have them set to silent but I assume you can set to 'loud' if need be.

    • Cheers, was trying to avoid another app on the phone. :)

Why wouldn't you want the Amazon app on your phone?

        • Meh another app taking up battery time and tracking me everywhere. :)

@EightImmortals: You can disable all permissions except for notifications. The email-to-sms method is going to cost you 5-10c per notification.

  • I agree with getting parcel locker.

I get SMS with my parcel code every single time I receive something.

If you have the Amazon app installed, you can receive notifications of delivery events.

For orders delivered by AusPost, you're better off using the AusPost app to track as Amazon's notifications will be delayed. The notifications are great for those delivered by Amazon Flex though.
