I bought one of the SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC UHS-I U1 Class 10 from Shopping Square back in June.

It has since failed on me and is no longer usable.
I then bought another from Memory City here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77890 and when it arrived, I noticed a few differences with the two which makes me suspicious that the one from Shopping Square was not genuine.

    1. The first thing I did naturally when I received it from Shopping Square, was put the card in to the accompanying SD adapter. When I tried to remove it, I realised the adapter was gripping it so tight I couldn't remove it at all. In the end I had to get some tweezers, wedge it in to the adapter to try and pry the opening wider, then pull the card out.
I then discarded that adapter and used one I already had which had no problems.

    2. When it failed on me and I got the replacement card from Memory City, I looked at the two to try and determine any differences.
I had already thrown away the packaging from Shopping Square so I couldn't compare that.
The Memory City package, when opened, contained a plastic insert that held the memory card and adapter in place. This was well made with rounded edges which wasn't the case for the Shopping Square one.

    3. Also hidden inside the pack (in the part that isn't viewable through the clear opening) was a little piece of paper which had the Sandisk Memory Zone info and a QR code to take you directly to the website.
This was definitely not in the one from Shopping Square because when I get these things I usually scan the code and check out the website just for fun.
Pic of what I mean here https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/30033…

    4. The adapter from the Memory City purchase also functioned as you would expect, no problems getting the card out of it.
The adapter that came with the Memory City one says
SanDisk microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC adapter, with a little ® at the end of Sandisk.
The adapter that came with the ShoppingSquare one doesn't have the registered trademark symbol AND doesn't say microSDXC on it.

The Memory City card has been functioning fine for me so far.

I'd say to people thinking about getting it, be a bit weary.
Even though this is OzBargain, maybe a couple of extra dollars will save the heartache of losing valuable data.

I am not associated neither shoppingsquare nor memorycity.

I bought a micro 32gb from last week deal (shipped from Sydney). The adapter I got has all the things you are describing, "SanDisk microSD TM, microSDHC TM, microSDXC TM adapter, with a little ® at the end of Sandisk."

I bought two SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32GB in the last month, one from shoppingsquare and one from memorycity, they are both the same, same packaging, both working fine.

I only go for deals when shipped from Sydney.

Thanks for sharing that with us.
Hopefully a rep can offer a reasonable explanation

      • Thanks, I have sent through a customer support request.

Just in regards to that link you posted showing the memory card you are selling, what I received looks exactly like that MINUS that registered trademark symbol after the word 'Sandisk' on the adapter.

If this can be resolved without too much hassle, I will be happy.
Hopefully my support ticket won't be lost amongst the pile like what some other people are saying..

  • Rep can you have a deal on microsd class 4 like you used to have month ago?

  • +1

hehehe at retail price statements like:

    Don't Pay: $99.95

    Was: $23.95

    Our Price: $17.95 GST Inc.

    Save: $82.00(82%)

  • As an FYI for anyone interested, I bought the 32GB class 10 micro SD from memorycity last week.

It arrived last night - postage was from emu plains.

Im using it inside a samsung galaxy fit. I transferred about 25 GB worth of media onto the card via USB 2.0 and it was averaging between 8-10 MB/s

Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty good.

no enough + to summon rep to entertain us?

  • No microsd 64gb for $64? Inc shipping of course ;-)

  • I have gone on a personal vendetta against this mob.

Purchased Asus EEE Slate on the 13th of September and all I have so far is a "Confirmed Payment" status.

No reply to etickets nor any response via Paypal Dispute.

Furthermore, they change their "estimated shipping dates" automatically (I have proof of this) if there are delays with the shippment.

    Idiots.
