Great price for a highly recommended RAM kit for AM5 systems.

Seems to be the sweet spot in terms of speed for the Ryzen 7000 CPUs.

I bought the CL32 version of this a couple of months back and it would blue screen at expo setting within a few minutes .
As my mobo was on the QVL I sent it back and tried again with the RGB version and that worked at EXPO .

I think it's a bit of a crapshoot with DDR5 very much like it was when AM4 was first released .

Yup, super keen for the 7950x3d, as it's great for analytical workloads, but the dramas to get everything to work stable is too much of a PITA.

      • Can’t comment on the 7950X3D but I spent a good 12 hours trouble shooting my 7900X3D when I set it up last month, including EXPO stopping my PC from Posting.
Got it all working in the end but it was frustrating!

Yea my 6200 cl36 ram refuses to boot and when it does it blue screens rather quick but will run happily at 6000 cl30 with much tighter all around timings including secondaries :/

      • Yea It seems that AMD struggles with memory controllers on their CPUs . My old x370board originally with a 1st gen ryzen struggled to get to 2933mhz . Over the years with firmware updates it eventually got to 2 unmatched pairs of 8gb and a 5600x to 3600 cl18 rock solid with zero tweaking .

Hopefully AM5 will get there eventually .

        • That’s it, quirks aside it’s a great platform; saw massive jump in performance even from 3700X in some photographic applications that I use (now on 7700X).

Good price I paid $289 last week.

  • Would this work with the recent 2k nebula build? Diff brand etc & timing?

I was hunting for white RGB ddr5 and it was next to impossible. Finally settled on this 6400 cl36
    CORSAIR Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6400 (PC5-51200) CL36 1.4V Intel XMP Memory - White https://amzn.asia/d/cdjN6o5

Bought 4 x 16gb sticks. Wanted to max out the motherboard slots. Hope its not a crapfest on AM5 getting it to work. I suspect I'll need to set it to 5600-6000 to get all 4 sticks going

I actually ended up getting each 32gb pair for $165 and $175 in the recent prime stacking deals

    • There’s supposedly quite a big speed penalty when using 4 sticks of ddr5 ram with am5. You’re better off buying a slower 2x32gb kit.

      • Yep it drops down so i dont think I'll get the 6000-6400 but i'm hoping i can get it atleast to 5600. Want to try use all 4 slots for aesthetics.
If its really bad I'll return one pair and stick with the 2x16

        • Yeah, hopefully it works out well. I know corsair has ddr4 dummy sticks so maybe you can get some ddr5 ones when they finally end up releasing them if the 4 sticks doesn’t work.

          • @AngryBlobFish: Don't think they make them yet for ddr5 but something to look out for in the future if 4 sticks doesnt work out

i have 2 x 64gb kits, over 3600 is just a major challenge. level 1 techs on youtube has a video about 4 sticks with ddr5 … i suggest you have a look.

      • Thx ill check it out. I have heard anything over 64gb total is particularly problematic

        • From what i have found its a limitation set by AMD. The 7000 series cpu's memory controller simply can not run 4 channels single rank or dual rank at the higher speeds. 2 no problem 6000+.

I knew of this limitation before purchasing. I was lucky with a amazon order stuff up where i was suppose to receive 2x 64kits but received 2x 16gb kits{at a insanely cheap price}..this was due to a listing issue. So amazon told me to order the correct memory @ $900 and send the incorrect 32gb kits back, they then refunded the $900. SCORED!

Also from the few motherboards I have played with in the 7000 series all list the maximum speed as 3600 with 4 sticks in their specs listing online. Some state higher but (OC) officially 3600.

          • @BilboBargains: Yep makes sense. If i cant get atleast 5600 on the 4 sticks with overclock i'll probably return one kit. I've read reports of people getting 4x16gb stable at 6000 though

My kits are also SK Hynix A chips so I'm hoping that helps in the overclock

  • Dammmm bought 2 sets. Thanks

are we projecting dram prices to continue dropping or is now the time to buy? slowly getting the pieces together for a new system so i can afford to wait but im curious what ozb has to say.

Good price, just paid 254 for the same with RGB. This is the exact ram hardware unboxed recommends for AM5

    Getting so cheap already, crazy

    Good Hynix kit.

I’m running a 64gb kit of the same and it’s running nicely alongside my 7800x3d with much tighter timings.

    EXPO sucks

    No RGB, no deal.

  • Bugger OOS

Anyone know if this ADATA RAM will be more or less just as good as the Trident Z NEO here? Both are 2x16 GB 6000mhz CL30 kits:

    https://www.umart.com.au/product/adata-32gb-2x16gb-ax5u6000c…

    • primary timings of the adata are 40-40-40-76 compared to 36-36-36-76 on these gskill sticks out of the box. still decent value tho for an rgb kit and the tweaktown review is worth a read; looks like they were able to improve the performance quite a bit.

I've got his kit paired with a 7800x3d with buildzoids subtimings. Absolute powerhouse in gaming.
