Quick question, has anyone found a way to make a payment to their credit card using a Salary Packaging or Salary Sacrifice card?
Currently trying to get a points bonus on a credit card, but want to use the funds in my Salary Packaging card to pay for it.
Salary packaging cards can only be used against eligible merchant codes (which are pretty restrictive). Paying off your credit card would definitely not be possible.
buy itunes cards, sell on gumtree, use cash to pay off credit card
usually financial service to financial service transactions like that are blocked from happening
to another poster's comment - the merchant code might not even be on the eligible list
That's it. Pay off your credit card with tax free dollars. I don't think so.
If using maxxia you can go into the app and make claims for credit card repayments. Had no issues doing this.
We need some real tax reform.

Just log-on to your salary packaging submit your credit card bills and as others have said many packaging agreements will cover CCs.
not recommended but for your awareness:
Don't go down to officeworks, pickup a square reader, and definitely don't sign up as a merchant and choose restaurant as your category. This will list your MCC (merchant category code) as eligible for most meals & expense cards but you'll take a 1.9% or whatever haircut on the top. Most employers don't audit meal cards due to a reliance on MCC blocking as justification.
FBT is always the responsibility of the employer, although most salary packaging agreements have clauses that require you to pay them back if FBT is ever incurred or imposed. Also you could potentially risk your employment.
