I assume this alleged 18V jacket takes the 12V starter set battery?
Does it take a Bosch 18V battery?
If not what makes it 18V?

EDIT: after further research it looks like it does take a Bosch 18V battery but ONLY with a not included $79 18V adapter

    Per Link

The hoodie’s heating pads are powered by the GAA 12V-21 charging adapter (included) and 12 V battery from Bosch or, optionally, by the GAA 18V-48 charging adapter and 18 V battery from Bosch (not included).

Does it come with jumper leads .

Even though Bunnings has listed it as a jacket, within the ad description i think it is more correctly described as Bosch's hoodie option. You can get a better deal with an extra battery through totaltools (https://www.totaltools.com.au/171880v-bosch-12v-hoodie-jumpe…)

Im not sure this is significantly different than the other regular price of this product (including a battery). If it was the more expensive Jacket offering then it would be a very good deal.

I have a bunch of different heated clothing. Get the heated base layer instead. The jackets dont keep you as warm since the heat is further away from core areas.

    • I'm just about to travel to the snow. Can you recommend any particular brands or range? Also, which piece/s of heated clothing do you value the most? TIA

There are a few budget ones - Uniqlo Heatech and Decathlon's base layers.
If you are willing to up your spending, you can get Merino wools one. Icebreaker's Merino base layers, Kathmandu's Merino wools, Decathlon's Merino wools, and baselayers' Merino wool. There are a lot of companies that make merino wools. The more GSM of merino wool, the price goes up and the more warmth it provides.

  • I wonder how these compare to the cheaper CONQUECO ones? https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07K1BVNN7? - I ordered one a few days ago but not arrived yet…

    • I have a couple of the cheaper generic heated vests and they often break at the USB plug end due the thin wire on the USB plug. I have ended up buying replacement USB plugs+wire from eBay and replacing the plug.
      It's a common weak point.
You are better off buying a well known brand that has a stronger connection to the battery socket.
