Bosch 12 18V Tools + 5x 5Ah Batteries + 8" Mitre Saw + Lawn Mower + $400 Bosch Bucks: $1999 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Total Tools

1070

Sorry can't find the link to the T&C or when it expires but if you were interested in going into the Bosch 18V ecosystem seems like a pretty good deal:

  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Brushless 13mm Hammer Drill Skin GSB 18V-85 C 0615990J9S
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Brushless 1/4Inch 220NM Impact Driver Skin GDR18V-220C 06019L6040
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Brushless 1/2inch Impact Wrench Skin GDS 18V-330 HC 06019L5000
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Brushless 125mm GWS 18V-7 Angle Grinder Skin 06019H9001
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V 1050rpm Brushless SDS+ Rotary Hammer Skin 0611924000
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V 165mm Circular Saw Skin GKS 18V-57 06016C1240
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V BITURBO Brushless 1100W Reciprocal Saw Skin 0.601.6C0.000
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Bluetooth Jobsite Radio GPB 18V 2 C Skin 06014A3040
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V 800Lum LED Torch Skin GLI 0601443600
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V Blower Skin GBL 18V-120 06019F5140
  • 3 x BOSCH 18V 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery 1600A001Z9
  • 1 x BOSCH 18V 4.0Ah Battery Charger GAL 18V-40 1600A019RN
  • 1 x BOSCH Large Tool Bag 1600A003BK

Then bonus 8" Mitre saw, lawn mower and 2 more batteries.

Delivery was around $90 for my area but I live 1 suburb away from the store.

I am not sure if Bosch Bucks work like standard Total Tools offers where it is just $400 store credit or if they can only be used on Bosch products. Whenever you click on the images that say T&C apply it doesn't actually link to T&C.

  • Price in title mate

    • sorry $1999 trying to work out how to edit it now

  • +2

that's a whole lot of gear for that $$$. thanks

  • +1

Even comes with a bonus lawn mower!

    • +1

But you need 8.0AH Procore Battery to get the best performance out of that Lawn Mower. It would be a good deal if it comes with 3x 4.0AH Procore and 2x 8.0AH Procore

  • +1

I read the list and looked at the photo and was like hmmm, looks okay but not sure it is that great of a value… then I realised it comes with the mower PLUS the Mitre Saw PLUS the batteries - at first I thought it was the usual case of pick one, but you get all three as you point out (I just didn't read fully). Nice

  • Insanely good deal!

Would buy in a heartbeat if I didn’t already have all of those tools.

  • +3

the bonus looks better than kit.

  • How does Bosch stack up against the other main competitors?

      • +4

I put it somewhere in between Ozito and Ryobi.

I'm in a power tool buying stage right now, and the Ryobi stuff I've tried handling in Bunnings feels built to a low price point- they've cheaped out on simple things like their click switches and the tolerances in the casings. I have never used their stuff in anger, but it doesn't present well.

I have used Bosch stuff in the past quite happily, but again, I am by no means an old hand with power tools.

Just for the pricing alone, I'll definitely end up with some Ryobi gear. But avoiding the Bunnings monopolistic monster is causing me to look further afield.

      • +17

Bosch green is Ryobi grade, Bosch blue id as good as any of the pro brands and has a 6yr warranty on tools AND batteries

Seriously good price but weird assortment of gear that I'm sure I won't/don't need all of. Tempted to buy the lot then flog the mower and two batteries off to recoup

Thanks for posting OP, will consider

    • +2

As a Bosch tool owner, I can confirm Bosch 5.0AH batteries don't sell well. 4.0Ah and 8.0AH Procore Battery goes really well at half price on Facebook market.

  • hi question please i cant afford milwaukee…whats the option this bosch or makita or dewalt?? thankss

    • +1

Makita and Dewalt have more range, but at the same time, too many, you will get confused.

Bosch is a bit easy, mostly only two version of the same tool, of the same generation, one for standard, and for Connected, Marked with C(eg, GDX 18v-210 vs 18v-210C).

    • AEG

  • If you can't afford milwaukee, check hilti.

Bosch blue series was meant to be better than the average bosch green series/

    • +1

I run Bosch blue, I've dropped impact drivers off a shed fram from 3m on to concrete, left tools out in the rain accidentally and I even had my drill run over by my wife accidentally when I was building a retaining wall next to the driveway and she came home… they all still work and they work well.

      • Any accident with you phone ?

    • Thought Hilti specialised in fleet tools and servicing. What stores carry them here?

      • Gotta buy direct from hilti.

    • I must be missing something- where do these 'bonus dollars' come into it? I don't see anything on the product website about this.

      • +1

        it's on the main page

    • Great pickup and a few people will fall into this trap…
Also the price of the individual tools is almost double what you would pay by going through a reseller that separates the kit and sells the parts alone

    • +4

Use you bonus bucks to pickup a couple of 8ah procore batteries as soon as the coupons are issued. Easy purchase to address the lack of 8ah procore batteries in the set!

  • +1

If I hadn't been collecting all the ozito deals for years I would be on top of this, looks like a good set for someone starting a collection

  • +1

Lots of people up-voting but not many buying…
    A few downsides here:
No Procore batteries at all - good luck with the mower
Voucher has 48 hour expiry and only on bosch tools
The individual bosch tools are super high priced and are easily obtainable with tax invoice from resellers for less than half the price TT sell them for individually as they are broken up from such kits

    • Do you have a link or name of the resellers? Would the warranty still be valid, which is one of the biggest pro's of the Bosch tools. 6 years on both the tools and batteries if registered within 30 days of buying.

      • Check the individual tools on ebay and marketplace. Look for business sellers that provide tax invoices.

All these tools are the base-model blue Bosch tools, even the batteries and charger are underwhelming.

The best tool is the free mower…

        • -3

The best tool is the free mower…

Except it's an 18V mower instead of a 36V. So not useful for anything larger than a nature strip.

          • +2

@rumblytangara: I hate wasting time on people that are clueless, because it happens so often and I have limited time to correct people… But for the benefit of people who think you know what you are talking about, you're wrong, you're always wrong.

This Bosch mower uses two 18V batteries connected in SERIES, providing a total of 36V.

      • +3

Most people are in eco systems already so while I think it's a good deal I won't be buying.
As far as the procore batteries go, I would use the voucher to get 2X8AH Procore batteries for $350
        https://www.totaltools.com.au/154530-bosch-procore18v-2-x-8-…

As far as buying from resellers they almost always do not include the full manufacturers warranty, they wont give you 6 years and I challenge to you even try and put together a list of all these items from resellers and get under this price

        • GDR 220C is new model, but impact drivers doesn't sell on Market place as almost everyone already have one.

The Blower might sell for $90,
          Mower $400.

Rest will stuck and won't sell.

Meaning $1500 for low grade tool that buyers wil regret.

          • +1

@Vater Woods: I assume that anyone buying this kit will want most the tools and wont be selling

  • -2

If you own an investment property and do your own maintenance / repairs, could you claim this on your tax return?

    • +1

I own my own home and do most of the maintenance and repairs, why can’t I claim this on my tax return…

      • +5

Income tax is based on income generating activities. To claim purchasing the tools as a taxable expense, the tools need to be used for income generating activities.

        • Makes sense, thank you

      • Is this a pisstake?

    • You can't, but raise rent by $40 a week and it will be paid off in a year

      • Wouldn't this be a cost/expense associated with a revenue generating asset? Or does it need to be more directly related (i.e. the use of the tools makes the money)

        • -1

Asking the wrong people here mate, but give it a go!

  • -2

bosch makes great accessories, but the tools are meh.
my top tier list would be makita, milwaukee, dewalt, metabo, then bosch.
you can use them for work, but i find them to fit the gap between pro and diy. im not sure if the germans even use bosch, lol.

    • Metabo have fallen too far behind, it kind ~ Ryobi now, used to have Metabo Series.

  • +2

Welp, thanks to OP for posting this. I am now about to go from owning one puny 2AH Ryobi battery to a whopping seven 5-8AH Bosch batteries.

I wanted a lawnmower and some starter tools, so despite some tool snobs thinking that Bosch is too high priced and should be chased down as individual parts through Ebay or random third party resellers, I have better things to do with my life so ordered this kit.

Also - beats feeding more money into the Bunnings monopoly machine.

    • Same here. Only have one aldi drill, and needed a lawnmower. I used the $400 coupon for the edger.

  • My metabo cordless drill lasted 20 years. 6 years of tradework too.

  • -1

I'm looking for buy 18V brushless combo kit
Why most of tradie ( sparky ) use milwaukee tools?
Is it good better than other brands? Like makitta or dewalts? I just want to know milwaukee tools more expensive than others
    Is it worths?

  • I am looking into buying tools, and I am leaning into Bosch brand
    This is a good start?

    • +1

The internet is full of argument about Makita vs DeWalt vs Milwaukee vs Bosch vs Ryobi vs whatever.

  • +3

For the guys who are debating on reseller pricing, here's a crack at collating the data (I have used Ebay lowest price)

    Hammer Drill $130
    Impact Driver $195
    Impact Wrench $195
    Angle Grinder $199
    Rotary Hammer $285
    Circular Saw $180
    Reciprocal Saw $285
    Blower $110
    Torch $100
    Radio $0
    Batteries $100
    SubTotal $1,779
    Mower $550
    Drop Saw $250
    Extra Batteries $100
    Grand Total $2,679
    Bonus credit $400
    Grand Total w/c $3,079

I mean the above doesnt have the 6 year warranty either. I think the TT is a decent deal.

    • +1

As Bosch Owner who sells off extra tools and battery of Market Place:

Hammer Drill $100 and won't sell, so $0
Impact Driver $150 and Wont Sell, so $0
Impact Wrench $150 and Won't Sell, so $0
Angle Grinder $100, hard to sell,
Rotary Hammer $150, Hard to sell,
      Circular Saw $150,Had to sell,
Reciprocal Saw $100, Hard to sell,
Blower $90, Hard to sell, $60 to $70
      Torch $60
      Radio $0
      Batteries $0, 5.0Ah just don't sell,
      SubTotal $
      Mower $350 - $400
      Drop Saw $200
      Extra Batteries $0
      Grand Total $1,230
Bonus credit $400(2x 8.0AH Procore Battery at Special, Market price $250)
      Grand Total w/c $ 1,480

      • hang on…

for the blokes out there trying to buy a bunch of decent DIY tools, assigning $0 to some of these makes no sense.

Put it this way, why don't I give you $1700 and you get me the above set?! And you would technically make $220… its a no brainer for you. Go on…

        • If you are seriously, we can organise this tomorrow, I will only keep the $400 Bosch Credit.

      • Serious question here- if you're breaking up kits and selling separate tools, how does warranty on the individual tools get handled?

I'd assume that warranty would have to tie back to the invoice, and the invoice is for a complete kit so that can't be split up.

If I buy anything of facebook marketplace or ebay I assume no warranty.

      • +2

I've sold some of these via ebay - these are figures received after fees and shipping:

        Hammer Drill - $109.97
        Impact Driver - $92.32
        Fast Charger: 40.36
        Standard Charger: $30 on marketplace
        8amp Procore Batteries: $109.63
        5amp standards: $still not sold.

I like bosch tools, but its hard moving on the unwanted dupes from the kits.

    • Nobody is going to buy tools without warranty for the above prices… Check marketplace and you'll see that at much lower they are still for sale…

If somebody does buy 1 or 2 the buyer will be stuck with a lot of tools they can't sell… Just overall not a wide thing to do.

I don't want to waste my time but you think the mower will sell for 550 when on special every 8 weeks it goes for $499 with a free 8ah procore battery and charger?

      • +1

Not sure who you are directing this to?

In response to alot of the naysayers, I was simplying checking ebay to see what the "best" price is outside of total tools where they still offer some warranty. National Tools came up alot in my search and they offer 3 years.

Again, the TT deal isn't too bad if you are looking to start a decent set for the price - that was all I was getting at. its $3000 (reseller) vs. $2000 at Total Tools.

  • -3

If you can do the above, brand new in box with invoice and legit 6 year warranty, tell me where to meet. And sorry, you need to include the 2x procore battery btw. Can't not include that / the Bosch credit.

    • Only thing worth in this is that $400 Bosch credit, since the 2x 8.0AH Procore Battery is on special. Of course I want to keep it.

But according to you, $3079, minus $400, you still getting $2679 worth of tools for $1700, you are in $979 profit.

So why aruging over that 2x 8.0AH Procore Battery? Because you know it the only thing in the kit is worth it.

My offer still stand, I just checked, Mitcham still have stock, I will but the kit for $1999, and sell it to you for $1700, only keeping the $400 credit, right at the Total Tools Mitcham check out.

      • -2

You can't just cherry pick mate.

In your post, you attributed the whole package to $1480 including some "partial" credit to the Bonus $ and hence I offered you $1700 for the equivalent.

Now you're removing the credit..lmao. If thats the case, per your table, its $1230 without the credit so I have to adjust accordingly down to $1500 which is only fair. I'm only using your table. Still want to do the deal? please…

This is why sometimes this site is a joke. You have people like you who can't do basic math creating chaos in threads that are actually reasonable deals - sure this isn't deal of the century but its not what you're making it out to be.

        • But according to you, $3079, minus $400, you still getting $2679 worth of tools for $1700, you are still in $979 profit.

So, because of that two battery, entire $3079 suddenly become worthless?

          • -2

@Vater Woods: Its a package deal that we are looking at which includes the credit so lets stick to it for comparison sakes.

You are mix and matching value here and i'm calling you out on your made up table, and rightly so.

            • @Bargainitis: So you abandoning your own calculated $979 profit, but face is more important, so you choose to blame me. 😂😂😂

              • -2

@Vater Woods: lmao.. don't gaslight me dude. My offer was $1700 for the whole package, not $1700 for whole package less the $400 credit. Why would do I that?

You know your math was cooked. Profit is all relative and the package deal isn't bad on its own which was the original assessment.

Stop trying to derail if you can't stand behind your own clown numbers.

                • @Bargainitis: Grand Total $2,679
                  Bonus credit $400
                  Grand Total w/c $3,079

This is your calculation mate, your losing it over $400 credit, which I said is only worth it, because the 2x 8.0Ah is on special.

You made a wrong calculation, just admit, Ozbargainer will understand and forgive you, but if you keeping it up, like it going to save your face, LMAO.

Since the Special ends tomorrow, and Voucher takes 48 hours, which mean it can't be used in time.

Its not even worth it now.

                  • -2

@Vater Woods: No point arguing with someone who is mathematically challenged and also can't read. Its not about saving face - the economics must make sense.

My prior post covered my offer which is $1700 for the total package which should be "profitable" according to you $1480 "value". If you want to take the $400 credit out, then I have to adjust accordingly. Not sure how that is so hard to comprehend?

Your offer is BS, you want to spend $2000 at TT, have me pay you $1700 and you can pocket $400 credit which means you would be up $100 in the trade.

Go scam someone else you clown.

                    • @Bargainitis: Scam? Hahaha, I pay $300 for $400 credit scam?

But your own calculation of $979 profit is not a scam.

$100 vs $979, and you have the audacity to call me a scammer.

Ozbargainers are smart enough to see who is the scammer.

                      • -2

@Vater Woods: Okay last reply as i'm sure we both have better things to do.

Lets deal with credit a different way. Can you follow the below?

                        1) Total Tool's deal of $2000 with $400 credit = $1600 overall (at face value). Agree?

                        2) Reseller on an individual base for the same tools per table = $2700. Agree?

                        3) Your table suggests same tools on equivalent basis = $1230. Agree?

                        4) You want me to pay you $1700 for what I could get from TT for $1600 (per above) - this is why the credit must be included.

My earlier comment is the flipside of this as you stand to make $100 if you kept the credit. Somehow, "people are smart enough to see" i'm the scammer?

I mean, do we really need to keep going through old grounds? Why would I be a scammer if I'm technically paying a premium to your valuation?

                        Please, lets move on…

                        • @Bargainitis: The $1700 offer was made by you.

                          Grand Total $2,679
                          Bonus credit $400
                          Grand Total w/c $3,079
This calculation was made by you.

I simply trying pay $300 for $400 credit, while let you take the remaining $979 profit calculated by you.

                          Eating your own words already?

$100 vs $979 by your own calculation, and you cowered, and starting an campaign of excuse and blames.
                          LMAO

                          • -2

@Vater Woods: We're still doing this? what excuses am I making?

I offered you $1700 for the whole package including keeping the credit (comp'ing it against your BS $1480 grand total number). Why do you keep dodging this? you want to keep the credit but yet keep forcing me to honour the $1700? huh?

My last post was simply highlighting why paying $1700 for the tools only (excluding credit) makes no sense to be begin with. Why is that so hard to comprehend.

You also keep adding in irrelevant stats in your replies, like how is the $979 delta (assume you are doing $2679 less $1700) relevant here when the TT deal is technically $1600 for the equivalent tools. The real saving is if you honoured your table but letting me pay $1700 for the tools and keeping the credit = $1300 vs. $1600 from TT which is actually a $300 saving.

Anyway, enough brain damage on this. Got better things to do. Keep collecting and trading tools dude.

As someone that has just moved into a new house. I only own a bosch electric screwdriver.

I have a very small amount of grass to mow (20sqm) plus the nature strip.

This seems like a great deal for someone that will need to occassionally use these tools?

$400 credit towards the 8Ah batteries.

Find an edger and life complete?

    • Haha legit in the same scenario, contemplating this also:
      $1999 for the kit
then i would use the bosch bucks towards a edger/snipper ~99 (less voucher)
then go to bunnings get this (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/911634) kit with 2x8Ah $399
sell the bunnings kit with 2 5Ah Batteries (re-coupe $200, possibly more)

      Total spend = $2497 less re-coup from selling $2297

Meanwhile i have a great kit of tools and a tax invoice to claim 2497 worth of tools with.

Post purchase update: Placed an order and because the deal is popular and out of stock all over Sydney, it's waiting for delivery to a local branch (nowhere near me, but fine).

The $400 Bosch bonus came through a day later (I did send an email asking how this would work, so maybe that was part of the quick reply) and because it has a 48 hour expiry window, I used it straight away. I did not check if the bonus code could be used at another tool supplier- figured that if anything goes wrong it's better to deal only with Total Tools instead of two places.

So the $400 of bonus tools which came with free shipping should make it to my place well before the main order is ready to pick up.

  • I've been holding off locking in to a battery ecosystem, so am starting from nothing. Would this work for a very casual user? In the three years I've been waiting I haven't really missed anything, but I'm now desperate for a lawn mower.

Sounds like a $2000 lawn mower if you've managed not to need any cordless tools in three years.

  • Pretty decent value for a new home owner with small/medium yard.
