Does the subscription renew at that price or is it only for the first year?

    • +2

I wouldn't risk it. I would cancel the auto renew for peace of mind.

  • Nord VPN doesn't appear to have India as an option. Is there another country's currency close in price?

    • +4

Ended up going with UrbanVPN temporarily to switch to India, as mentioned below. Used Chrome browser, and deleted cookies as instructed. 300 rupees = $5.45. And cancelled the subscription. Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, very useful one.

Any recommendation for a good free VPN?

    • +3

      Urban VPN works.

      • Thanks, but it works to $10 when I change to Indian VPN

        1 year Blinkist Premium
        ₹5,900
        keeplearning_offer_90 (remove)
        - ₹5,310
        Total
        ₹590

        • Do you use Chrome as browser? Change to another browser. Also is there any affiliate link on the link? Those are the two reasons to why you get that price instead the 300 rupees.

          • +1

@Scrooge McDeal: Yes, chrome. Closed everything and still the same. Same with FF.

            Will try with Edge now

            Edited :
            Works, thanks OP

  • Is this like Audible?

    • no it's like spark notes

    • +4

Also looking for Audible on the cheap one

      • I tried their trial for 1 month or two(cant rememebr) and then when I cancelled they offered me 50% discoutn for the next 2 months.

      • Yeah anyone know if cheaper Audible is possible?

There's always the "other" option with a smart audiobook player but you lose the whispersync function which can be useful

        • +1

Borrowbox and your local library -it's free

    • +2

I've been using Libby after cancelling Audible.

It doesn't have the full range of titles, but depending on your library, there are bound to be some good ones.

And free is a much better price.

  • What is this? Read-all-you-can-books or something else?

    • It's "not-all-that-good-because-too-short" book summaries that you can read or listen to.

      • +1

Good for ppl who are time poor like me, but still need to know abt it

        • +5

It's good for those who want a talking point or two about it, but actual insight and learning is rare

          • +7

@mickeyjuiceman: Some books, especially self-help ones, add very little to the bulk and are better off abbreviated.

            • +4

@scupper: Depends on the self help book. Those written by experts in the field tend to be information dense whereas those written by self mades tend to just tell a lot of anecdotes and boil down to some non empirical points.

      • +4

        Why not just use youtube

        • maybe ChatGPT might provide a perspective …

    • +1

It's just a summary of the ideas in the book.
If you're into non-fiction it can be good as you can het a summary of the book and then read the whole thing if it's interesting.

  • signed up

    went to cancel the subscription

i was offered a 50% discount on renewals which seems not a bad deal

    • was that 50% off the INR value?

      • +1

Looked to be 50% off the full price based on the INR rate.

Assumed it would be around $25 at current conversion rate.

        • How can you tell? It doesn't show me what the renewal rate is

  • +4

winscribe vpn worked fine as well.. just purchased at 300inr.. I didn't turn off the vpn and paid with 28 deg card.. checked the statement and it charged $5.45aud

  • can chatgpt do this?

    • +1

      You could ask it

      • +5

I think they want to know the correct answer though

        • The short answer is yes of course, but it won’t likely be as good or subtle as a human answer and it’s got a training cut off from 2021, with not all material likely to have been directly trained.

  • Thanks, worked well. I used UrbanVPN, paid INR300 from my Wise account (i have a few INR for YouTube Premium).

  • AUD $5.45 and done

  • Just subscribed. Thank you OP. 👍🏽

  • thanks OP. Great offer. It showed me $7 AUD. My 28 degree card charged $5.45.

  • This doesn't give us access to the book itself, does it? Just the summary.

    • +1

      Yeap

Great solution to pretend you're a cultured person during family diners

interesting! Do they get their own account I wonder?

Mine showed as $7 after turning VPN off and refreshing; still a good deal Thanks OP!

  • Any deals for audible?

  • Do you guys find that these summaries are too surface level?

    • yes - you're basically paying for a speed read summary, a lot of detail and intricate notes are missed.

      • Any better than the summaries via Youtube?

  • It's a rubbish app.

  • New account only for existing accounts ok?

  • How do you cancel auto renewal rather than canceling the subscription. Dont see any option to cancel auto renewal.

    • +1

That just cancels the auto renew, end date showing as 2024.

      • Thanks

  • Thanks, OP!

  • Thanks, OP! 🙌
I used GetFlix VPN to teleport to Mumbai and subscribed with my google account for $5.51 charged to my Revolut disposable card.
I added openning Blinkist as a mobile phone morning routine.
Thanks again for the awesome tips, OP! 💫"

    • Yeh just did the same and used revolut disposal card

  • If you after a similar service, check out headway too. It provides a bite size summary of books.

The only difference, headway doesn't do as good audio translation as blinkist/audible, they are very robotic

    https://stacksocial.com/sales/headway-premium-lifetime-subsc…

    • All I want is good actionable summaries with relevant examples. Which is better, lifetime headway or blinkist sub?

    • If you use Chrome browser delete cookies. Alternative change browser and you will get the 300inr price.

      • Yeh seems like my private browser session cached somthing and reset things and back down to 300inr

  • Is anyone having problems creating an account? I've tried different browsers with VPN on/off but still get a greyed out 'create account' button which can't be selected. The 'sign up with google' option is also greyed out

  • What is step 7?

    1. Delete Cookies
    2. VPN on to India
    3. Go to deal link
    4. VPN off (Disable VPN)
    5. Price changes to AUD (lower)
    6. Order

AFter step 6 you click "Get The Offer" but then it shows a pop up asking you to log in, but how to log in if you are creating an account?

  • Seems like its gone, link not working

    • +1

Yeap. Looks like they realized too many people signed up with the 90% off offer. It was good while it lasted.

    • +4

      70% code still works.!

      keeplearning_offer_90 keeplearning_offer_70
Price come's down to 900 Rupees

      • +1

Took the 70% off for ~$16 AUD after INR conversion. Not as good as the last deal but better than nothing!

  • Does anyone know what the renewal price would be please?

  • +1

This is the latest working link brothers: https://www.blinkist.com/en/nc/coupons/keeplearning_partners…
INR 900 ~ $11 AUD for the year.

    • used this, turned out to be $16 not $11 based on 28D conversion
(about right according to google too)

      • +1

Whoever wants Blinkist Premium now it's the chance before they close the 90% off offer again.

  • Got it now. Great. Thanks :)
First I got the private internet access vpn with the 95 % off using cash rewards.
Then used that to connect to india to get this. Cheers :)
    Btw, had to replace
    https://www.blinkist.com/en/nc/coupons/keeplearning_partners… link with
    https://www.blinkist.com/en/nc/coupons/keeplearning_cs_li90
to get the 90% off. $5.45 using commbank card for the whole year.
