Shame they left it this long to put Dreams on PS+. I bought the early access and had some fun with it but it would have benefitted immensely from being on PS+ and on PC back then. Keen for Death’s Door though!

Dreams is 4 and a half years old and should have been free a long time ago.
And any 2K sports games can f right off.
So you would much rather CoD 22 or whatever they are at?
2K has worse gambling and grinding than any COD.
The reason they bought The Golf Club and chucked a 2K logo on it was to do just that.

Are there any modern PC golf games where I can make my own avatar, upgrade skills and equipment, and preferably have a single player mode beyond just being 'on tour'?I played one of the recent golf games on gamepass and it was always online and absolutely soulless. Mechanics are borderline unchanged from 2005… choose your club, adjust for lie, and swing.
I bought it at launch. It flopped massively.
A quicker release on PS+ may have saved it.

Dreams was released in February 2020, so about 3 years an a half.

true… but they added sniper elite 5 last month and I'm having a surprisingly good time with it - it's the opposite of COD, lots of sneaky sneaking and running away

No way? Why’d they do that. I was considering back onto Xbox next year, certainly next generation since I’m a COD guy and PS days are numbered.
In saying that, I might not buy COD if it goes XB only.
Games were a haven for me and as an older game it’s just disgusting how monetised every aspect of them are.
Dreams is a bit late. Should have gone to PS+ a year or two after launch to keep it alive.
Bargain bin month, Knock some more off completion on FFXVI I guess.
PGA brings back the 3 click system instead of the dreadful analog stick nonsense, so maybe there is hope. But will it be worth the inevitable 100GB disk space. I wish they would turn the Everybody’s Golf server back on.
Well FWIW the 3 click system is excellent. Unfortunately the game really tries to shove the paid battlepass down your throat, but the core simulation is worth the hassle. I feel sorry for anybody who paid for it though, and it's online only even when playing solo. You can't even favorite a course if your internet goes down.
Only Deaths Door for me this month
One game that most people are not into. One game that is not supported anymore & one game that is already on gamepass or in the $10 bargain bin everywhere else. One of the worst months of the year.
Don’t skip deaths door. An amazing game by a two person dev team.
Death’s Door is a great game, and well worth checking out if you like the gameplay of classic 2D Zelda games.
Another vote for Death's Door. Had great fun with that one - it's a good challenge and bigger than it appears at the start.
Deaths door is definitely the highlight here and easily makes this month a good month.

So we get a rubbish month and in return get Sea of Stars as a day one title for August.
Here come the gradual decline in monthly titles just like Xbox in favour of the monthly Extra/Deluxe.

You're right, but its all a matter of perspective. If ones main purpose for paying for PS+ is to play online games with others, then the monthly games are simply an added bonus (and in my mind a free bonus, because they don't factor into my decision to purchase the product in the first place). . If one has PS+ purely for the monthly games, then sure, they cant be said to be free.
I regret signing up to PS Plus as the majority of games I play are single player and the games they’ve made available month to month are so woeful.
I wish you could pause the service too, alas it’s stuck wasting away each month.
It's absolutely nothing compared to gamepass. This month with COD & Alan Wake is probably as good as it's ever going to get.
To be fair, PS+ 'Essential' is more a competitor for the old Games with Gold than GamePass. The new 'GamePass Core' will be somewhere in between I guess.

I remember being so interested in Dreams when it came out and waited for it to go on sale but never bought it. But now since I only play rocket league these days and you dont need PS+ i have noticed how little excitiment these monthly games give and the 'catalogue' is pretty standard for the pricing. Microsoft has their shit together and is building on their game pass all the time.
