    Thanks got one.

Any good third party Soft Roller Heads? Not keen on paying $150 (half the price of the vacuum) for the soft roller.

    • whats wrong the head that it comes with? is it not good for floor boards?

      • It's fine for hard floors and carpet.
Some people may have floors too nice to walk on.

  • This or a replacement battery for my V6?

    • +1

Try a battery adapter for your V6 instead.

      • How much is the Makita 18V Battery

        • If you don't already have a battery from your tools it will be expensive to start buying. The cheapest battery will be from Ozito, a 18V 4Ah battery is $40 when on sale and a charger is $10-20.

    • I was same situation as you so just bought this. V6 Has been playing up lately so not sure if only battery was issue

      • Have you tried taking the top cone-shaped filter out and hitting it against a wall to remove all the dust?

        • I took the whole machine apart using a helpful youtube video. Worked for a bit then acted funny again.

  • Got mine delivered today, and it came in a plain brown box like it is a refurbished model? Did others come in a brown box also?

My old V6 came in a nice colourful box

I bought a brand new V7 from TGG late last year, same packaging as yours. I wouldn’t stress. Some brands like Sony, TCL and I guess Dyson have moved to using plain cardboard packaging. Something to do with eliminating the use of inks to help the environment. Hah.

    • Mine's filled with dirt and someone tried to wipe it clean. It was definitely used.

I received mine today, but the dust container already have lots of scratches and dusts. I doubt that its brand new, anyone is the same?

    • I got mine today and mine has some scratches only at the bottom. dont know if this was caused by being in packed box for a while? can you share a pic of yours?

    • Same here. It looks like it's refurbished. Completely unacceptable.

      • I just accepted as it is. I sent message to them but they don't offer replacement. So the only solution they gave is return and refund. I need a new vacuum, so I guess its still better than buying from marketplace.

        • But it's actually false advertising. How did they respond to that?

          • @mun4: I didn't pursue it further, but they guarantee that the item is brand new.

            This is what they say

"During manufacture a powder lubricant is applied to the seals of the machine. This will appear as a powder. The purpose of this powder lubricant is to ensure the seals don't stick and will move as needed when the bin opens for the first time. As the machine is used and dust makes its way through the machine, this isn't necessary to reapply. The wipe marks appear to be from during manufacture, possibly wiping some loose powder lubricant off.

During transport, some of the loose lubricant may settle throughout the bin. While we can understand your concern, be assured this machine is brand new and the powder is to be expected.

Should you wish to return please raise a return request within your eBay account."

            • @yummypinacolada: With mine, I got fibres in the tube as well which has no seal. Could be contaminated with a fibrous material. The previous user could have used it on asbestos.

I'm still waiting for their reply.

              • @mun4: Just try to ask for a replacement mate, but I doubt they'll do it. Worst come to worst if our machine is not brand new, we still got 2 years warranty.

  • Got mine yesterday, seems to work fine but the rotary floor head makes quite a rattle / vibration when in use.
The other rotary tool and no tool is fine.
Anyone else notice this or is it normal?
The old Dyson DC45 that it is replacing is noisier but no rattle noise from the head.

    • Got mine today and the rotary floor head sounds awful, like a jet engine! The dust box also had dust in it. Not convinced it’s a new unit.

  • having to keep the trigger pressed is annoying. has anyone used anything like this - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285267554587?hash=item426b45711b…

    • Still waiting for mine, but been contemplating getting one of these. Would be useful.

    • Change hands 😄

I find it ok for quick run arounds. They are probably only designed to run for short periods not 40 min at once.

  • Returning mine. Dust bin doesn't open properly when lifting up the red lever.

Anyone comes across the similar issue?

    • I thought I had the same issue. Really had to yank it up to open.

      • Yes give it a good hard pull.

        • Tried all of that. Afraid I was going to break it if applying more force. Googled and got quite a few youtube clips about it. Apparently, it's a known issue. I probably got a lemon.
Hooked up with Dyson support via video link. They saw the stuck when pulling up the lever and straightaway offered to repair it or full refund.

Took the refund option. Received return label and had it processed at Auspost.

          • @ja912son: Hard to know but guess faulty then if you need more than the usual force. Could be normal if you haven't used one before though.

            • @G-rig: You may be right. First ever Dyson. My 1st gen Dreame gave up to the ghost after 4yrs.

              • @ja912son: It still seems from all the comments that these are refurbs Moreso than new ones so hopefully the replacement better.

                • @G-rig: The one I received is def brand new, even smells like brand new.

                  • +1

@ja912son: Oh right, well I suspect it was just a matter of it feels harder to pull open than you were used to but was probably fine but who knows :).

  • My order got lost in transit and claim the Origin Plus is now out of stock. They have offered me a standard Dyson v8 Cordless Vacuum "at no extra cost", or a full refund. Is the "Dyson v8 Cordless Vacuum" (presumably the original one) as good as the Origin Plus, or at least still a very good deal for $309?

(From the posts above looks like I might have dodged a bullet with the Origin Plus' they were sending out anyway.)

    • I went ahead and asked them to send a replacement "Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum", looked very similar on paper.
