Beware. Any half decent qualified GP wouldn't work for a bullsh*t company such as Instant Consult. You gotta be pretty damn desparate to work for such a service. I'd be surprised their "GPs" are actually GPs.
    Source - I am a GP.

Can we see you for appointment?

Who are they? Why are they desperate? Why do they pass the standards?

      • I just used Instant Consult and looked up the social media profile of the GP I saw.

They seem to love traveling and have a photography business. That doesn't seem desperate to me. They seem to be enjoying life and trying to make some money from a hobby of theirs.

  • Glad to see the comments here aren't nearly as big of a sh*t show as I expected it to be…

  • Incoming 5,000 'pimples on bum's' + 'Hey doc, can I get a medical certificate cheers'.

    Just did this process.

Was relatively straight forward. Had to add a payment method regardless of the coupon.

However once added I was able to book a consult and 10 mins later I got a GP. It was a video call that lasted about 5 mins where I got a prescription. GP wasnt the friendliest but it was a fast transaction which is what I suspect they get paid on

Consult finished and the coupon applied. Was $0 and got my prescription via email 5 mins later.

Overall was good but I won't be using them again due to the cost being so high.

Thanks OP. Worked out brilliantly for me. Had been debating seeing a GP for a minor condition. Downloaded the app. Booked a consult. Only had to wait about 2 minutes for the consult. Happy with the doctor and advice. Got an electronic script within seconds. Cost me nothing.

  • App is a mess to use. Way harder than it should be, especially when a card shouldn’t even be needed.

Worked well for me - was not a new customer (used service during COVID) coupon still applied and wasn't charged. Easily got a repeat of a prescription I needed!

This worked like a charm for me - my son needed a med cert for his casual job and it was sent within seconds. The whole process took three minutes.

  • Medicare stipulates we cannot bulk-bill any patients who are not under 12 months of age.
If you are not eligible for a bulk-billed consult, the following private fees are applicable and not rebatable by Medicare:

Standard Consult (less than 10 minutes) $45.00
Long Consult (more than 10 minutes) $55.00

    not worth it ..

  • Is the coupon valid for a long consult?

    • +1

It should be - the coupon is for 100% off on your 1st consult.

I just used mine, had to pay $45 despite the coupon (which I'm waiting on the refund). The consultation lasted only 4m23s. The doctor was unfriendly and wasn't interested in any background….kept rushing to what my question is. He ended up asking me to visit a GP in-person stating that he cannot examine via video call.

If it wasn't for the free coupon, I'd certainly would have felt ripped off! $45 for a 4m video call only to tell me to visit an in-person GP.

  • Thanks used it for being sick on a monday when a med cert is required but everywhere was booked out and seemed like no hope of getting one otherwise.
Pricey sick day to use it without the code though.
