And here I was getting excited for a wine deal…

  • +3

Good price, but yeah.. it's on the heavy side for sure.

It should also come with the platform attachment.

    • It probably does, same item number on the website:

      https://www.costco.com.au/Home-Improvement/Tools/Tool-Access…

      • +2

It does, and that's why I included that info in my original post:

Costco variation includes the work platform, which I have found super helpful and has an RRP of $99

        • I'm not sure this is correct as the listing states, with asterisk-

"Multi-position ladder easily converts to A-frame, extension, 90-degree, staircase and trestle-and-plank* scaffolding configurations. *Plank not included"

          Am i missing something?

          • +1

@Monoclonal26: You sure are, that is referring to using a plank with the ladder as a trestle. Nothing to do with the "Work Platform"
Just look at the title of the ladder - Little Giant MegaMax Multi-Position Ladder with Work Platform

    • Good ladder, I found it bit heavy too, maybe I need to lift some weights lol

      • +1

Why not start with the ladder itself as weight!

  • +5

I got this one early this year at the same price. It’s really really awesome, can fit into a dual cab Ute tub and can be used as a 5 metre extension ladder. Considering its length and multipurpose it is not that heavy comparing similar products on the market

    • +1

Best little ladder I've ever owned.

  • cant buy online? only available in store?

    • Correct, part of "In-Warehouse Savings" deal. I have updated the title thanks.

  • Thanks OP. Very recently (and reluctantly) bought the Syneco equivalent from Bunnings, which is more expensive, heavier and no work platform. Looks like that's going back!

    • I looked at those, and they looked like junk. One of the things I didn't like was the little tabs to allow it to fold/extend, they looked like a pain in the ass.
Gorilla one looked much better, but this was a step above again.

That said, the Syneco at regular price is a tonne cheaper than Gorilla and Little Giant standard prices, so you do get what you pay for.

    • I bought the Syneco too. Main thing is that its a multifold that folds small enough to fit into just an SUV. Dont have a ute.

      • Yeah, they do fold nice and small.
Don't need a ute for this, I got it in the back of my sedan, maybe boot, I can't recall, 141cm is it's shortest length though.

  • damn, good deal! I paid a lot more for the leveler 6 months ago which doesn't even come with a platform. +$300 for adjustable feet isn't worth it IMO

To the other comments, yes it's got some weight to it versus other ladders but for good reason - it's 1 ladder that covers you for all types of situations. A-frame, step, full extension, etc. without having to buy and store multiple ladders.
The added weight feels sturdy, something you want when you're standing 4.5 metres off the ground

  • Damn i want want. Anyone want me pick me one up from Moorabbin and I'll pick it up from your house? 😶 (I have no use for a CC membership.)

    • You can join, buy the ladder, then cancel your membership and get a full refund.

Nice one OP, I dropped by DOCKLANDS VIC just before and got one, theres a whole stack of them on a pallet at an ENDCAP. easily 20 or so, and i could not wait until the weekend so I went during my lunch break and would kick myself if they ran out of stock before I could grab one. I lugged it all the way from COSTCO to the office, the wheels helped a tonne but it will get heavy after 10mins if you lift it (and I work out too, if i knew this deal was going to drop today I wouldnt have worked out this morning, muscles are wrecked) but the issue is ladders can be unwieldy due to the length so the weight feels heavier than it really is, but its not too bad if you are able bodied. will easily fit a small car too for those wondering.

N.B theres also a tonne of that other deal "Dewalt 18V Brushless Cordless Drill & Impact Driver w/ 2x Batteries/Charger/Case $199.99 In-Store Only" in stock too (easily 30+ at the time of this comment), its stocked in the shelves as per normal, unlike the ladders.

    • I don't have a hatchback, you reckon it'd fit in the back foot rest area in a Corolla sedan?

      • +3

@montorola easily. as long as you can fit a 140CM x 61CM item even a pushed back front seat in a sports car would work (though it may be hard unless you have enough strength to tilt it at an angle to put against the chair if you one man/woman it) as its smaller than an adult and about as big as a 10-15 Y.O. It does not come packed in a box and its true to size. 100% would fit in the back seats of a corolla.

ANYWAY, just to be sure, I would simulate the below dimensions with a tape measure against the space you plan to put the ladder in and you are good to go

        H 1.39 m x W 61 cm x D 23 cm

        • +1

Thanks mate, appreciate the in-depth reply.

  • Arrgghhh, ya twisted me arm laddies!

I got 2 folded ones, but a 4+ metre reach with leg extension is too good to pass…

Couple years time, these things will probably go for 300-400 because of inflation.

  • +1

Picked up one of these a few years ago. Heavy, yes - I wouldn't want to lug it to different sites for trades, but it is fine for around the home.

Really good quality. No issues, even when I left it in the rain for a few weeks.

Very flexible - have used it in a lot of different ways (painting, xmas lights, gutters, antenna replacement, cage wrestling). Very happy

    • +2

Agree with this. Great ladder that is very useful. Heavy but feels very sturdy.

  • Can someone please let me know if there's any stock available in Marsden Park? Cheers.

    • +1

      You can call and check

  • Is this the kind of ladder you buy once and don’t need another for 20 years?

I got a Bunnings ladder for maybe $200-$250 a year or so ago but it’s just not long enough to get on the tall roof safely
Sounds like this can do everything, maybe I sell the basic one and get one of these

    • Is this the kind of ladder you buy once and don’t need another for 20 years?

I guess like anything, it depends on what you do with it. If you're having ladder matches each month, then no. But if you're a regular non commercial user, then yes, they are built bloody well.

    • They're standard stowage on the modern portion of Victoria's fire trucks. They are well liked in the brigade, I'd buy one if I was a CostCo member.

    • I've had one for 2 - 3 years, used it every now and then - still looks brand new. I expect it'll outlast me.

I also have other ladders, including the 'fold up' ones that can take on various shapes. The hinge mechanisms all jam in the end and they get quite hard to use - I've seen none of that with this.

      So, yup. Long term investment.

  • Good ladder. I like.

  • Just picked one up from Kilburn Costco. Plenty of stock, roughly 15 left

    • Picked one up after work today. Only 7 left from my count.

  • Good deal.
Do Costco put things on hold?

    • +1

Nah but these goes on sale in every 3months

  • Plenty left at Coomera

  • Great ladder, bought one myself

  • +1

Costco Moorabbin: Half a pallet at the front door as you walk in, but there’s another pallet at the back of the liquor aisle

    • 20 Pieces at front door now, thanks OP bought one

  • +1

Just to clarify. This one does not come with leg levellers (adjustable feet for uneven ground).

    • Also to clarify, this has the work platform for the included price.

  • Thanks OP. I was looking for a ladder for quite a while now. Bought one today thanks to you.

Plenty in stock at Costco Perth Airport

  • Did anyone else not get a Manual?

    Cheers OP!

  • I bought this about 70 days ago for $340, can I return it and buy it again?

    • I would start by going to where you bought it and see if they will refund the difference. It should be in their best interests that you keep the old ladder rather than getting stuck with a second hand one.

      • bought it from Costco only mate.

        • I meant the Costco store you bought it from. The website says that price matching is at the discretion of the store. Unless your ordered it online.

  • Does anyone know if there is still stock in coomera? Or Ipswich?

  • Thanks OP picked one up from Marsden Park this morning. Still 5 on the shelf and staff told me another pallet had arrived this morning and was out the back

  • So is the max length 5m or 3m?
Unsure what they mean by extension?
Do you have to buy an extension to get to 5m?

    • +1

Max extension is 4.5m. No where does it suggest either 5m or 3m, so no idea where you pulled those numbers from.
      This ladder extends.
      No, this ladder extends.

      • +1

        Extension Max. Reach: 5.51m
        Stepladder Max. Reach: 3.45m
        Extension Highest Standing Level: 3.55m

        • Thr Reach numbers take your own height into account, I.e. the height you can touch when standing on the highest standing level quoted (add 2m).

From Little Giant's page (link in deal post):
          A-frame Max height: 2.15m
          A-frame Highest standing level: 1.45m
          Extension Max height: 4.5m
          Extension Highest standing level: 3.55m

        • Right, none of those are to do with the ladders physical limits.
You somehow looked past the very part that used the same terminology you did, "extension".

Extension Min and max Height: 2.75m - 4.5m

They are two completely different ladders, that Gorilla is a traditional two step fixed length ladder, but in fibreglass. If you are a sparky and need the non-conductive construction, then worth the consideration for sure - https://www2.gorillaladders.com.au/products/fdm-i.html

      • thanks so much! Not a sparky and will just be doing jobs around the house. Seems like the little giant ladder looks smaller and easier to store since it extends?
