"Instantly setting the TW6000W apart from the pack is the 'W' concluding its name. It stands for wireless, and refers to the Wireless HD Transmitter that complements the 3D projector. With the transmitter, installation is a cinch as it feeds info — 2D and 3D - wirelessly to the projector. 3D is taken care of with its 2200 lumen bulb, 480Hz frame rate, a high contrast ratio of 40,000:1, 1080p Full HD projecting and split screen 2D viewing. The TW6000W is a great projector because it offers the best of both worlds, delivering exceptional 2D footage with 3D as an added perk."

Smarthouse, Smart Awards 2012 - Best Budget Projector, February 2012

"This Epson AV projector is extraordinary for two reasons. First, it offers front-projection 3D at a cost some two thousand or more dollars lower than the alternatives. Second, it introduces a radical new way of getting the image from your equipment to the projector …"

Stephen Dawson, Sound + Image Review, 13/01/2012

"A good bang-for-buck 2D and 3D projector with WirelessHD and great image quality."

Smart Lounge, PC World (New Zealand), 4/5, February 2012

"At this price you're getting a projector that shows the big boys a thing or two. It's got excellent entry-level 2D and 3D performance, and is a steal for both gamers and movie lovers alike. If you're looking for your first projector but can't blow the bank, you can't go wrong with this budget beast."

APC Magazine, 9/10 + APC Editor's Choice Award, April 2012

Even better, you can upgrade your warranty for an extra year to a 3 Year Projector Warranty for only $99 (Normally $149). And that's a genuine Epson Australia warranty, not a third party one!

  • 2200 lumens aye? How much are the globes a pop?

  • RRP of the projector alone is $2,799 a

Yeah, and you say the HDMI cable is $199 RRP. So I calculate the projector is really worth about two hundred bucks.

    • +2

no he said 99, so the projector is worth atleast 400 :P

      • meh. website says rrp $199, so he normally sells it 50% off :)

With all these sun-$1k HD projectors, how hard would it be to use two for 3D with passive glasses, like in the cinema?
Alignment would not have to be perfect, unlike the old RGB 3-lens projectors.

        • well that was always my plan… though you've still got the issue of a driver for both projectors…

  • +2

Just curious as to why you would need a 10m HDMI cable if this model is wireless, isn't the big selling point of this model that you don't need additional cabling to the unit (apart from power)?

    • Except the wireless system sucks. Many people have trouble getting it to work without having to power cycle their systems every time they want it to connect. Pain in the butt by all accounts.

    • Good question! Since you're wiring the projector up to power, we recommend connecting the projector with HDMI at the same time for all your fixed home theatre equipment for a stable connection - which also frees up your WirelessHD adapter for portable devices (e.g. a laptop or a friend's game console).

If you'd rather remove the HDMI cable from the bundle, and go totally wireless, I'm sure the sales guys can offer you a slightly better price on the bundle. You can contact them on 1800 008 899 or 0425 823 615.

not a good deal.. selbys have it cheaper and free delivery..
    http://www.selby.com.au/electronics/projectors/projectors.ht…

    • +4

Their price on the Epson TW6000W is $2,148.

As mentioned above, that's only the projector with 2 x 3D glasses - not any of the extras mentioned. If you're really after the projector on its own - we do a non-bundle Epson TW6000W for $2098 with free delivery (which is $50 cheaper).

Better deal is going with the TW5900 direct from Epson for $1,549 (https://www.epson.com.au/shoponline/shop/BrowseProducts.asp?…). According to the expert reviews, there isn't really anything worthwhile in the TW6000 for the extra cash.

Source from eBay a screen for $150, a mount for $30 and an HDMI cable for $15 and your set.

    • +1

C'mon, they're very different models - the TW5900 has half the dynamic contrast, lower brightness and comes with no 3D glasses. The reviews listed in the deal - including the Smarthouse Smart Awards 2012 Best Budget Projector and the APC Editor's Choice Award - are for the TW6000W. You're also linking to carton damaged stock whereas we're selling brand new units.

      • Those units direct from Epson are also brand new units with full warranty. Who cares if the box it comes in is scuffed?

And I'm just reiterating the opinions of expert reviewers. For example Stephen Withers at AVForums (http://www.avforums.com/reviews/Epson-TW5900-EHTW5900-3-Chip…). They could not see an appreciable difference between the two projectors, despite the marketing figures.

        • +1

Those units direct from Epson are also brand new units with full warranty

How much are the glasses, and how much to make it wireless capable?

        • Glasses are around $50 each for genuine Panasonic (certain Panasonic glasses are compatible with the Epson systems).

As I noted above, the wireless system has so many problems with the HDMI handshake requiring a power cycle every time you switch to it. Better off wired anyway.

The TW6000 isn't bad. But for basically the same performance, the TW5900 is a bargain. This site is about bargains after all.

  • lol a $99 hdmi cable???! dream on

    • +3

If I'm going to drill and run a permanent 14m HDMI cable into my walls, it better be a damn good one with quality sheathing. $99 ain't that outrageous.

  • -6

the cable connection has them for tw5900 brand for $1549

    • +6

what is the point of negging a post based the price of a completely different projector?

The projector you linked to has different specs and does not have wireless capability like the one in this deal. If it is such a good deal, post it separately. Or…. even better, just post the comment without adding the neg… then the post won't disappear and people will be able to make use of your information….
The negative vote is there to remove poor deals from the view of most members. It will also remove useful information such as yours….. as the whole post disappears.

If the product is crap, not the cheapest, or the retailer is a shonk, then neg away…. those deals should be removed.
      Otherwise…. just make the comment

I am constantly amazed at how negative this site can sometimes be….. anyhow, I have an older Epson TW3500 projector, bought over two years ago from these guys, and was very happy with the service I got from them as well as the projector itself. Quality of the image is great, and the lens adjustment is excellent. Original bulb is still going strong. I'd expect this newer projector to be at least be as good…. I might treat the 3D with a grain of salt, but a nice feature to have I guess even if you never used it. The wireless HD I'd put in the same boat, as in general I'd always go cabled if at all possible. I agree with the rep - leave the wireless for ad-hoc connections. There's no real description on what that cable actually is - 30AWG? 24AWG? Dunno…. but could always try it… if it's free, and it works, what the hey. Although personally I'd find out how long a cable you need and then buy one from the likes of http://www.spacehifi.com.au/cables/hdmi-cables/hdmi-cables-s… because if you're running a cable through the roof then you don't want to have to do it twice after finding out the cable is rubbish. The remote I wouldn't use - I'd go a Logitech…. but the mount is fine if basic, and the screen should be good until you saved up for a motorised job.

So. Projector is good. Supplier is good. Price is good and comes with freebies some - if not all - of which you might use.

    A positive from me.

    • +1

I've got a TW600 that has been running for 5 years on the 1st globe. Still runs like a dream and picture quality is great. Only minus for me is it will not wear out (which is needed before the misses will allow me to upgrade).

I'm not sure why it's getting a neg vote

  • +2

Oh, if you're a truly cheap you can always go a refurb model (https://www.epson.com.au/shoponline/shop/DisplayProduct.asp?…) for $1680+delivery, but frankly I'd go this new job with the extras!

  • Tempting but I already have a 2d blu ray player and a 2d only supported receiver. Getting this does it mean I have upgrade all of them with 3d capabilities? That will be like another $2k?

    • +1

      Not 2k: more like 900 bux…

personally i'm waiting for passive 3D projectors… only a matter of time before someone comes up with a dual lenses projector.
